Even the side dishes have that special homemade touch. The brisket and ribs are awesome. Very friendly and personable atmosphere. It's like eating a homemade southern meal in your Aunt Ida's kitchen. I read one review that said this place is not really romantic. Romance is relative. I don't know about most women but I love watching my husband eat ribs with barbeque sauce on his face and fingers. If you like southern food, then this is the place to get some. Pros: Great food, will cater Cons: May not accomodate very large groups more

Great Place to eat 8/29/2004

Heavy's is a great place to eat. Theyhave pulled pork, pulled chicken, chopped brisket, fresh collard greens, mac and cheese, home made potato salad, coleslaw, southern style barbequed baked beans, hushpuppies and so much more. I suggest you getting on over there to eat. Pros: Friendly, Clean, cozy more
