I needed an abdominal and pelvis CT with IV and oral contrast. When I called to schedule my scan, they asked if I had a shellfish allergy because of the IV contrast, I informed them I have a deadly allergy to shellfish, so they told me to get steroids from my doctor; which I did, and phoned them again to make my appointment. When I arrived for the study, after drinking the two containers of barium, staying up all night so as not to regurgitate the barium, and taking the steroids, they refused to do the scan with the IV contrast (making the test almost useless). I was informed that they SHOULD have directed me to a hospital both times I called to set up the appointment. Waste of time, waste of energy, increased my pain and suffering for nothing, and I wish I didn't have to use their facility (this is not the first problem I have had with an MDI facility). If you HAVE to use them due to your insurance, then be sure when you make your appointment, that you treat their employees as if they are imbeciles and walk them through everything that you need. They admitted that they dropped the ball and apologized; however, when it comes to medical issues and a person's health, an apology is NOT enough.
