We go to your restaurant just about every Thursday. Go Jose. We love Jose The Mojitos are the "Best in Manhattan" My friend received a free cigar tonight. That was a nice touch. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

We kicked around the idea of Havana Central a few times over a couple of days but kept dismissing it because of the location. Fast forward to the last day of our trip. We had just finished a walking tour of Times Square from its beginnings and were hungry for lunch. We'd checked out of our hotel and didn't have much time before we needed to head for the airport. We knew where Havana Central was and decided to take a chance. We ordered the sandwich de Pavo (smoked turkey) and sandwich de pollo extraordinaire (grilled chicken). Both were, ultimately, food at its most basic level but beyond basic nourishment they really weren't much. No real flavor, very bland and pretty much what one would expect from a chain such as Applebee's. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. more

loved it!!!!! 1/28/2009

Went on friday night to the Havana uptown. Cannot say enough good things about the place. We came in for a quick drink and ended up staying for dinner. There was a live band that was great, the food was fabulous and the service couldnt be better. Our whole group all agreed - we needed to come back - and soon!!!!! more

BEST CUBAN RESTAURANT IN NYC 1/19/2009

I visit Havana Central very often because i just love the food and the atmosphere. As soon as i enter the restaurant i feel very welcome by the hostess.when i last visit the restaurant i was sat next to the window which was a bit cold and when asked the hostess if she can change our table she without hesitation changed our table. Our server was awesome and of course the food was delicious. i ordered a churrasco (skirt steak) would've thought it was going to take long to be ready but it didn't. i got my food fast and well done. I have no complaints about Havana. They also have the best mojitos, and I try to make it to their happy hours as often as i can! Pros: food, service is great, great atmosphere Cons: can be a bit loud when the band is playing. Tables are too close to each other more

WOW!!! My relatives felt like they were dining in "CUBA" 1/10/2009

I visited the 46th st restaurant just a few months ago and had such a great time that I wanted to take my parents and cousins to your 17th st restaurant. The Pernil was like our granmother made back home. The Ropa Vieja and Beef Stew were also excellent. The mojitos are the best I have had in New York. I want to thank the chef and staff for making our evening unforgettable. Your team at Hanava Central has made us lifetime customers. Pros: this restaurant has a great feel to it more

Excellent 1/8/2009

Great food, vibrant atmosphere. Good restaurant centrally located near Times Square and Theater District in New York City. Reasonably priced and huge portions. You could probably share unless you are really hungry. more

A heavenly taste of Cuba 12/17/2008

My fourth time at Havana Central and I'm still coming back for more. I can't pick out the best thing about this restaurant because it is ALL so good--food (fantastic Cuban sandwich and Tres Leche dessert), ambiance (old world fans and palm trees), service (attentive without being intrusive), prices (very reasonable for the quality of the food), music (makes me want to visit Cuba.) I enjoy this restaurant so much that I am having my Christmas Eve dinner there with relatives. Pros: Food, ambiance, service & music. Cons: None. more

This place doesn't even deserve ONE star! Please read before going here. WORST experience of my LIFE! 12/16/2008

A monkey could have delivered me better food. This was the WORST place I have EVER been to in my ENTIRE life. I would NOT take the time to write such a horrible review if it wasn't true. This past weekend we were in NYC, and were walking around to find a place to eat. The menu outside looked half-way decent and we were starving so we just decided to stop here. WORST decision EVER. Everything that possibly could have gone wrong at a restaurant, went wrong. When we first walked in, the hostess' were on the phone giggling and laughing and took about 5 minutes to hang up and sit us with a completely rude attitude. She sat us at a table in the corner that still had cups on it from the last people, and the table was completely unstable. No waiter acknowledged us for about 15 minutes, so we had to find a small menu to put on the leg of the table so it would be sturdy. The waiter finally came to us and got our drinks (which took about 15 minutes JUST for water). He then took our order, and I was already ready to leave cause the service was so bad, and I should have gone with my instinct because what happened next was just unacceptable. He brings our food with a COMPLETELY NOTICEABLE string of hair running across my food. I sat there in shock, and waited another 10 minutes for him to finally come back to the table, as I was almost in tears. He took the food back unapologetically and brought me (what i'm sure was the same plate, he just took the hair off) and dropped it on the table, then did not come back the rest of the time until we were done!!! Then my boyfriend had to get up, walk across the room, get the water pitcher and pour us more water because no one would come to check on us. IT WAS UNDENIABLY THE WORST FOOD EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for it. I would NOT suggest this place to anyone! Honestly, stay far away from this awful restaurant, they do not know what CUSTOMER SERVICE means or SANITARY FOOD! Pros: absolutely nothing! Cons: poor service, non sanitary food, immature workers, bad environment, complete WASTE of money, the list goes on........ more

Havana Central 11/27/2008

We have been to the 46th Street location twice. If you're looking for a quiet restaurant, Havana Central is not the place for you. The food is good, but it is very noisy. The music was blasting - you could hardly hear the other person speaking to you. Prices are good. more
