This is the very best place to buy top line pet foods and treats and products...the only place in the area that truly cares about supplying our area pets with the newest and best things out there...puts PetSmart and Petco to shame. Thank God for this place. Owner Dennis is great and I love the way they help out Countryside with placing their homeless kitties and helps out the shelter with food etc. Good local business that really gives to the community. more

I've heard plenty of good things about Havahart over the years. But those were back in the early nineties when the staff, even if they were one of the high schoolers who worked there, knew what they were talking about and were enthusiastic and motivated. It was for that reason that when I moved back to the area a couple of years ago that I brought my dog into be groomed at the adjacent salon. Besides getting a pretty mediocre grooming, I was talked to like I knew nothing about my pet DESPITE the fact that the HEAD GROOMERS dog was the most emaciated and sickly thing I had ever seen in all my days. I'm surprised that no one had called the humane society on that woman. It's been a couple of years since I've been there and I'd never recommend them to anyone after witnessing that. more

The name Havahart used to assure healthy animals, however nowadays you cannot look around the store without finding countless dead fish and lizards in the displays. As if that were not repulsive enough, they have very little selection when it comes to small animals food and supplies. I have even found expired products on their shelves. To top that all off, on my most recent visit - early on a weekday aka when business is slowest - it took employees at least fifteen minutes to even bother asking if I needed help because they were too busy complaining loudly to one another about the employee who had closed the night before. When I finally caught someone's attention, the woman had difficulty answering my questions, was rude/insulting, and acted as though I was wasting her time. I have a number of animals and spend countless dollars on them each year, dollars that Havahart will never see again. more

Havahart is a place to go where pet owners are able to receive personal interest in their pet needs. Everyone who works there is knowledgable and friendly. The only down side is the prices. They are slightly inflated, but acceptable considering the service you will receive. I highly recommend visiting this store. more

I dont like the new store as much as the old store as for there selection of fish but if you have any questions they are the people to ask! They can help you with most any question from salt water to fresh. Even any reptails! There cat and dog foods are on the limited side as well as any of the small caged animals like hamster or ferrets. But still a great friendly place to shop and they will get almost anything ordered that you may want unlike the bigger pet stores. PROS: will order thisng for you, small enough they get to know you CONS: selection!!!!! more
