Editorial review from Citysearch 9/30/2012

Horrible person, horrible doctor. After years on suboxone at his clinic, he gets irate (no joke) when you talk of how to stop taking this evil drug. Said to me on a few occasions that (again no joke) the ""pain of withdrawal is mental,"" and more recently, that ""withdrawal is a mental physical complex,"" whatever that means. As the commenter below said, since he usually spends 3-4 minutes with you per month, such ""wisdom"" is not taken out of context-- these are some of the few things he's ever said to me. When I tried to have a conversation with him on my last visit, he got more and more angry, then left the room to ""take a call,"" and presumably return, leaving me in there like an idiot. He just wants to get your money, and get you out of there, and most certainly doesn't care if you turn into a human gangrene, as long as you can still pay him. Not that you are likely to find any better doctors in this field, in this country. It is a racket. more

Absolutely one of the worst people I 4/30/2012

Absolutely one of the worst people I have ever met. I have had a chronic, painful injury that has hurt me for 10 years, and after years of being prescribed painkillers, I became physically addicted. I am a 27 year old professional, and am by no means a ""junkie"". I scheduled my appointment under my own volition to go onto Suboxone to get myself off of opiates. After months of brow-beating and giving me hell for ""complaining too much"" about my pain, without EVER even looking at my knee, and non-stop threatening me about going to see HIS psychiatrist (again, I don't have mental issues thankfully, I just was dealt a bad hand with addiction), as well as REFUSING to refill my prescription for a week because I was unable to pay (I am a caretaker to my elderly parents and have more pressing financial concerns... none of which he even wants to hear about... again because I'm ""feeding him a line of bullsht"" (his words, not mine)... Would not even listen to my concerns about the side effects I was experiencing, because to him everyone is the same, and a junkie is a junkie is a junkie. He threatened to no longer see me after I had fallen and gone to the ER, where they had given me painkiller injections, and accused me of BSing them... when I had told them nothing but the truth. His staff, on the other hand, are very sweet and courteous... but he, being so high and mighty, takes turns driving his Porsche or Corvette to work, while I've needed to bus my way there with a full leg immobilizer. I am not a drug seeker. I went to this doctor looking for help, and offering nothing but the truth because I wanted help, and I am here a year later, in debt and not cared for in the least. My fiance, who also works in the healthcare field, also thinks he is a monster and should be stripped of his license. more

Good suboxone Doctor if you're ready 10/25/2011

If you are seeing Dr. Hasanoglu as a private patient he now does drug screens in his office, and they will only cost $50 cash. A patient seeing him through Waukesha or Rogers Memorial hospitals will have to deal with the hospital for their drug tests, and they can be a bit more pricey there. The advantage of seeing him through one of those hospitals is your insurance can pay for your doctor visits, and they will also assist you in putting together a treatment plan appropriate for you. If you do see him privately, and have to pay the $100/visit fee, keep in mind that this is a standard price and practice among suboxone doctors, and some are even more expensive. No matter how you slice it, even if you have to pay the the entire prescription out of pocket, it is still cheaper than maintaining the opiate addiction that put you in to treatment in the first place. If suboxone costs more than your drug of choice, you we're either very well connected, or your habit was small enough that you should consider something other than maintenance as a recovery option. more

DO NOT TRUST! OVER-PRESCRIBES & DOESN'T CARE ABOUT PATIENTS 5/12/2011

He's all about the money, THAT'S IT! Avoid this Dr. @ ALL COSTS, please don't make the same mistake that I did! KEEP READING AND SEE HOW HE SCREWED ME OUT OF ALMOST $1,000 FOR A SIMPLE URINE TEST! I would go in and pay my $100 visitation fee (CASH ONLY OF COURSE!!!), & I'd be out of the office & back in my car in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES with my prescription! When he'd come in the only question he would ask is, ""So how are things going? Any side effects; anything different?"" I never had any so that's about as in-depth that our ""conversations"" ever got. BUT TO GET DOWN TO THE POINT, Dr. Nezih Hasanoglu over-prescribed me Suboxone so that it was VERY hard to get off of it, and every time I'd ask how to get off of it (I'd asked on at least 5 separate occasions), he'd just say ""Do it by yourself, just taper down yourself."" (FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW: If you are on Suboxone & stop abruptly, you experience withdrawals; that's why this is such a serious deal. This is a medication that has addictive qualities!) Telling a person on Suboxone to ""taper by yourself, it's that easy"" is like a baseball pitching coach telling his players that the key to pitching is to just wind up, keep your right shoulder aimed toward the plate, and throw hard. NO! There's way more to being a baseball pitcher than that! Also, he never informed me or my family of anything relating to Suboxone and its side-effects, how long I would be on it in the long run, or how I would eventually get off of it altogether (besides the brilliant advice of ""just taper off yourself""). In my opinion, I think that he just wanted that $100 per month; and never really wanted me to get better at all - that's why he never gave me any REAL advice on how to get off of this drug, or never gave me any information on it in the first place. Tapering down off of a drug that can give you seizures is nothing to joke about, and since I've been tapering down I've had 2 seizures. This man is truly heartless, and it doesn't even end here! Dr. Hasanoglu sent me to get a drug screen at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, just randomly to make sure that I was clean, so I agreed; I needed my medication. I get the bill in the mail a week later, and THE BILL FOR A URINE SCREEN WAS $919.95!!!!!!! Dr. Nezih Hasanoglu said that ""he would take care of it"", and agreed with me that the price was ridiculous. This took place on August 7, 2009. I came in the next month and he had told me that ""everything had been taken care of"". Well, two weeks go by and guess who I hear from? The hospital wanting the $900+ for the drug screen that I had taken that the doctor had said ""was taken care of."" So the next visit I showed him the bill, he made a copy, and PROMISED me that he would take care of it; I even said I would pay $50, but not almost $1,000! So the next visit comes by, and Dr. Hasanoglu said that he HAD taken care of it, and for me not to worry about it because this was all handled now. Two weeks later, I have a debt collector calling me about this, AND TO THIS DAY IT IS STILL UNSETTLED!!! I have collection agencies after me for a $919.95 drug screen that I took on August 7, 2009, when Mr. Hasanoglu had said just around a month after I took the drug screen that it was settled between his office and the hospital. But, here I am, and in my opinion I don't think he made a true effort to try and settle this at all. I bet he made one call, and just said it was taken care of so I would stop asking him during my appointments and so I would stop calling his office. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF HE NEVER EVEN TRIED TO SETTLE IT AT ALL. Again, it is May 12, 2011 and this issue over the drug screen is STILL not settled, I have debt collectors calling me constantly. Looking great for my credit! Thanks Mr. Hasanoglu! But don't worry Mr. Nezih Hasanoglu, karma is a b*tch, and you'll get yours eventually... more
