For Wannabies Who Doesn't Know A Thing About Sushi or Japanese Food 3/25/2008

This place is perfect for Wannabies who will settle for Olive Garden for Authentic Italian and Panda Inn for Authentic Chinese. If you don't know a thing about Sushi or if you dig Korean Wannabe Japanese places, you'll probably be happy here. But if you are looking for Fresh Rolls & Sashimi and Authentic Cooked Plates, I'd stay away. Pros: Nearby Cons: Below Average Food ""Not The Real Deal"" for Sushi or Japanese more

OMG...Crazy @SS rolls here! 7/23/2006

The food here is excellent. I dine at Haru about twice a week. As the previous review said, the rolls are a little on the pricey side with most special rolls at about 8 to 9 dollars, but I assure you, they are WELL worth the price. They are freakin' huge. I mean, really, really big. One special roll is enough to fill you up completely. I myself am a big guy (6', 240 lbs.) and one philly crunch (my favorite) fills me up nicely. I've eaten at a lot of other sushi places and am usually disapointed with the size of the rolls. Most places, I would have to order 2 rolls to get satisfied. The bento boxes are par. Also try there noodle dishes. I forgot what its called but it is a big, sizzling plate of noodle and veggies with your choice of meat, its not my taste really, but my GF loves it and orders it regularly. The chefs are very cool, and nice. The waitresses are sometimes nice, i guess it depends who you get. The older ladies are nice but the younger waitresses seem like they really hate their job and dont want to be there, although they still do their job. It just makes me feel bad when I ask for things. Anyways, yeah, this place rocks. Definitely come here for the rolls. Seriously, each roll weights about a pound. dang, i'm getting hungry thinking about it... ^_^ I think ill go have some right now. Pros: Crazy @SS ROLLS!!!!! Cons: A little pricey, a few un-enthusiastic waitresses. more

nice people, great food 5/29/2005

another cozy korean sushi restaurant in the suburbs...yes, korean sushi, meaning it's a korean owned japanese restaurant with the standard photo menu...hence the rice is a little more stickier and the spicy tuna roll a lot more spicier. their special rolls are a bit on the pricey side but they are delicious nonetheless. i don't know if they still do the all you can eat sushi lunch special for $20, but that is your money's worth right there. The special even includes the special rolls and if the chef likes you, he'll even include teriyaki chicken or tonkatsu. despite the pricey special rolls, we always go back for their fresh sushi and the charming head chef. make sure you order the rolls from the head chef...the apprentice is still a little rough around the edges. =) Pros: fresh sushi, charming chef Cons: pricey special rolls more
