My friend and I had a wonderful experience at The Hartwood Restaurant the other day. We had never been there before and were pleasantly surprised by this ""Restaurant in a Bookstore""! what a beautiful place to dine, from the beginning we walk in to the hartwood until when we left at the end of our meal. the place is incredible. it was busy when we arrived so we mingled among the books til we were seated. the waitress was pleasant , we started with the soup, hot and sour ham. then we split a salad which was a spinach wonbok with a honey lime vinaigrette. then on to our dinners, the crab stuffed salmon with spicy lobster cream sauce and filet mignon with bearnaise, excellent. we finished our meals with dessert . a chocolate drop cake with berries and whip cream. this place is amazing and we have been back twice more since then and have taken our friends with us both of those times. they said they be back also. as we will again, the service has been outstanding every time, try it and you will see marie karsten Pros: everything more

The Hartwood Restaurant was the best surprise in culinary delight this year! The food was extraordinary with a Polynesian flare, but for those of you meat and potato lovers, the filet mignon was superb. The seafood was the best I have ever had in the Pittsburgh area. The portions were extremely generous for the price. The service was also well paired with the food, friendly and very knowledgeable. The wine menu was great, ecclectic but tasteful.
