Harter House is such a refreshing change from the huge grocery stores. The meat counter is wonderful, and the butchers and staff are extremely helpful. I watch the sales ad, and I buy the meats that are on sale that week. The prices on other grocery items are higher than other stores, but it is worth it to be able to park at the front door, and have someone carry your groceries to the car regardless of how big or small your order is. I love the beef tenderloin, chopped sirloin filets, stuffed chicken breasts, smoked pork chops just to name a few. Go to a bigger store for most of your grocery items if you must, but get your meat at Harter House! more

This store has good quality meats and a nice selection of other food items. The staff is always helpful in finding what you need and from time to time they have some great loss leaders advertised. On a regular basis though you are probably better off shopping somewhere else because their prices are sometimes much higher than what you would find at other places. more

Wonderful Meat Department 10/22/2005

Harter House is a small grocery store. They are very clean. The staff is helpful and knowledgable in helping you find your purchases. The meat department is wonderful with alot of fresh meat. It is very clean, they cut you meat the way you want it and while you wait. They always have plenty of meat cutters on duty so you are not delayed. When shopping for fresh meat I would 100% recommend them. more

Great food that has quality 9/22/2005

Harter House is a great "mom and pop" supermarket for one to purchase food. Their fresh fruits and vegetable always have the best qualities. I am never disappointed with the food I buy there. They also have a high quality of meat. The food is not "Wal-Mart" quality. You might have to pay a little more for the food than you would at Wal-Mart, but it is definitely worth it. The service is also great. more

Fresh meat- high prices 9/14/2005

Harter house is nice,clean, the workers are nice and they have a good selection. Their meats are the freshest that I have found in town. The bad thing is that their prices are just too high. The only time that I ever go there is is if I need to grab just one thing on my way home from work because it is on my way. more

great grocery store 8/5/2005

If you're not into the huge megamart, conglomerate-owned grocery chains like Dillon's (Kroger) or, of course, Wal-Mart, then give Harter House a shot. It's small and they offer reasonable prices. The most important quality of this store is customer service. Their meat counter serves crowds and crowds of people, and in record time, because they employ about twenty people to take orders. Their meat is top notch, too. more
