Jim Leonard, the Service Adviser for Harlan Automotive, was friendly, warm and welcoming. If Jim owned Harlan I would probably be a life-long customer for as long as I live in Kentucky. Being new here, I was looking for an auto repair shop that I could trust with the repair of my vehicle when necessary. From my vehicle's performance, Harlan did their job on a vehicle that is well-maintained for the most part. Nevertheless, Harlan needs to do a better job of delineating the actual work performed on their customer's vehicles, and not leave the customer confused by a confusing invoice. For me, I was left with the impression that all that was said and done was a vehicle inspection, and spark plug replacement--my tune-up seemed more like an over-priced maintenance tune-up.
On another note, as a new customer to Harlan, I stood about three to five feet away from the owner, as he worked at his desk, and he never said one word to me, nor did he bother to look in my direction, acknowledge my presence, or welcome me as as a new patron of Harlan Automotive that had just spent real money at his business; perhaps I was invisible to Mr. Harlan.
Anyway, being new to Murray, Kentucky--I am glad that my experience at Harlan was both hot, and cold. Now, I know exactly where not to spend my money on automotive repairs in the future!
