Located off Grass Lake Rd., easy to get to. We were ready for something different and were pleasantly surprised. In business since 1953, under new proprietorship it has everything. Including lots of space with many different dining zones. The setting is so comfortable and rivals elegant city restaurants; huge glass windows overlook the lake, we were told that the sunsets are spectacular. Tastefully redesigned. A fireplace is nestled in the heart of the main dining room, it also has a dance floor, soft lighting and plenty of room. A second dining area sits on the other side of a wide bar, with two plasma TV's. There's an upstairs entertainment area for small parties with deep leather chairs and another downstairs. We can't wait for the summer to dine outside on the expansive deck with a tiki bar. An ancient oak tree towers over the deck. The owner's Walter and Liz were wonderful hosts and we noticed they took care to welcome customers & were concerned with our dining experience. The service was punctual and caring, no rush and much concern. Our meals were wonderful, tastefully presented and nice and hot! The appetizer special, 4 large mushrooms stuffed w/sauteed tasty breadcrumbs and a dollop of cheese were delicious, only $7. My husband tried the baked clams (8) and said 'delicious'. Salad : a very nice vinaigrette house dressing. Our meals: I had the 12 oz. strip steak ($28) with parmesan and garlic crusting (delicious) - served perfectly medium. The beans were crisp & the tri-color potatoes were a nice treat. My husband : salmon ($14) and commented that it was fresh, moist and he ate every speck on his plate. We didn't stay for coffee and desert, but we will certainly return to try the other offerings. I recommend this restaurant highly and want to share the news that we now have a great new gathering place with a wonderful atmosphere and a great kitchen as well! .
