The women who run this store are SO knowledgeable! I totally believe in feeding my dog human-grade organic pet food, to keep him healthy and lengthen his life span. So when I found this place I was overjoyed! Not only do they carry a wide variety of pet food and supplies, but they trim my dogs nails in no time at all and give me the best advice. Any time I have any dog or cat care questions they are the ones I call, or tell friends to call. more

We own a miniature Poodle named Sydney, and he has to get groomed every 6-8 weeks. His breed basically goes from crew-cut to woolly-sheep in 3 months, so we have room to play with his cuts and styles. Sometimes, he's just shaved-down dog. Other times, he's Fancy French styling.. but no matter what our mood is on grooming day, Renee gets it right. Grooming dogs is not easy at ALL. We've watch licensed (human) stylists try it, and it's downright laughable. But Renee and her staff have a way with dogs and puts most at ease right off the bat - not what you normally find at a groomer. She takes our abstract descriptions and turns our little guy into a new pet every time. And I thought Poodles were supposed to be neurotic? Ours practically leaps into Renee's and Deanna's arms each time he goes in. Like all skilled artists, you'll have to wait for an appointment - don't call looking for a booking the same week. And they cost a little more than the hack-shack down the street... but there's a reason for that. They have an AWESOME selection of toys and food for dogs and cats... but you should do your shopping when you first arrive to pick UP your dog, before he/she knows you're there. Come to think of it, if a cat could be groomed, I bet Renee could do it! Can a cat be groomed? I choose dogs so I don't have to worry about such things. I bet Happy Tails will know.... Happy Tails is filled to the brim with great stuff - quality foods (from raw to premium dry kibble), treats, toys, training ads, etc... The staff is knowledgeable and really friendly. They also do grooming, though I don't use that service, as all my animals are low upkeep. :) They don't sell *any* animals, which is a huuuuuge plus for me. If you're looking for a place to buy Friskies, don't come here. If you're looking for a pet supply store that actually *cares* about what they sell for your pet, then definitely shop here! The woman who helped me gave input on a few cat litters I was comparing, gave helpful advice about the skin condition of a stray I was caring for, made up a price for the bag of cat litter I decided I wanted after discovering that none of the bags had price stickers, the paperwork which would tell her the price to charge wasn't around, and the woman who probably had the paperwork wasn't answering her phone. Price seemed more than fair, I offered to leave my number in case the actual cost was much more than she was charging me; she told me that would just teach the person not to stock the shelves with unpriced merchandise. Much more knowledgeable about products than the average pet-superstore employee that I've encountered, but upfront about what she did and didn't know. I'll definitely be going back.
