I love the flavors and combinations you get to choose from. They have every kind of ice cream you can think of and the toppings are great. From chocolate chips to gummy worms and fresh fruit you cant go wrong at this location. A+! more

I suppose there may be a few black sheep that don't find Hans' ice cream to be wonderful, but drive by any night of the week and the place will be packed. That's because it's FANTASTIC. It's a traditional ice cream parlor. They have great new flavors each month and some standards you just don't find in many ice cream shops anymore - like black cherry or black licorice. Unlike most of the chain shops, like Baskin Robbins, you will never get ice cream that is gritty with ice crystals from being melted and re-frozen. The scoops are huge. The staff has always been pleasant. I've been going to this ice cream shop for over 20 years, and make it a point to visit everytime I'm back in town. It just doesn't get any better. We tried this place with high hopes. It was recommended in Westaways magazine, a Citysearch favorite and the ice cream is homemade - what could go wrong? Maybe we went on an off night because we were severely disappointed. I LOVE ice cream - all kinds (even the exotic from other countries) but I couldn't even finish mine--and that's a first. more

My girlfriend and I dropped by just as the place was closing. The employees were cleaning the place and we were told that they were closed. As we walked back to our car, a man (who we later learned was Hans) waved us in from the side window. He welcomed us in and engaged in a no-rush, friendly conversation. We bought 2 pints to go and were extremely happy with the service, not to mention the outstanding ice cream. They don't short change you on the quantity, nor quality. It is so refreshing to come across a privately-owned family ice cream shop in this day. Enjoy this rare find! They also have great sandwiches! Very Fresh! Great soups and the only place you can get squaw bread! Ice cream flavors that you can't find any where else. Homemade right in the store! more
