I heard rumors about Hank's Ice cream, so yesterday I visited the parlor. The customer service is great! The ice cream over priced and it wasn't that great. I purchased to flavors and neither of them was what I expected. I have had better ice cream for a lot less. I don't think I will be visiting it in the future. more

Houston's Best Ice Cream 3/8/2011

Mr. Hank makes the best ice cream of all time as far as I'm concerned. It's not to be missed! My family and I have been frequenting Hank's ice cream parlor since my children were small, and they are in their twenties now. Mr. Hank calls me his ""butter pecan friend"" but every now and then I have to have some mango. Sometimes I call ahead and take gallons out of town to my friends. They will pack your order in dry ice for transport. more

Best Ice Cream Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/29/2010

I can't even begin to explain this place, its off S.Main which is an area I hardly frequent even though it is close being inside the loop but let me just tell you this has to be the absolute BEST ice cream ever! I selected the banana pudding ice cream on my first visit and still can't get the taste off my mind. The banana pudding ice cream really just brought me back to childhood, it tasted like my grandmothers banana pudding and even had huge soft pieces of vanilla wafer in it, but make sure you get it in a waffle cone, its the only way!!! Also, they have this butter pecan ice cream that apparently tastes just like pecan pie, this will be my next pick! I can't wait to go back and when I do, I am going to stock up on several pints that I can conveniently place in my freezer, so I can have Hank's amazing ice cream whenever I so please! Amazing Ice Cream 4/21/2010

I have eaten a lot of ice cream in various cities around the world, but this is easily my favorite. It's creamy, and fresh, and just sooooo good! Proof: I hate butter pecan ice cream with a passion, but at a friend's insistence, I had a bite of her butter pecan from Hank's, and I swear, it was the best ice cream I've ever had. In other words, my least favorite ice cream at Hank's is better than my favorite ice cream anywhere else. more

I went to Hank's for the first time this past Friday. That is some serious ice cream. I got the Banana Pudding. I tried some of my friend's flavors ... Cookies-n-Cream, Butter Pecan, Brownie Fudge. Hanks Ice is wonderful and tasty yet I do have a problem with the fact that the establishment keeps the tips. I feel that is stealing from the public. If I leave a tip it is for great service not to purchase more ice cream. I LOOOOVE Hank's! I go there regularly and the experience is always great! I also, for the first time, just called Hank to see if he could make a flavor especially for me (it's a flavor he makes, he just didn't have it on hand) and he's going to do it! This place is the best! I don't have a favorite only favorites. Try the sweet potato, cotton candy, banana pudding, or b. pecan. CS and MS can not compete. This stuff is worth its weight in gold! Besides the incredible ice cream it makes more sense supporting a mom and pop joint instead of a corp. chain. more

I just recently visited Hank's for the first time this past weekend and I was really impressed...I am a Cold Stone customer and Hank's ice cream is just as good and much cheaper! The employee's could have been alittle more friendly but overall, really great experience!! I will definatley return for more butter pecan ice cream!!! more

Thanks Hank for all the hard work. Continue to keep your customers eating good ice cream. I've been going to Hanks for years. The staff is exceptional and Hank I'm not sure how to compliment him. HE'S GREAT !! (: I want to say the Butter Pecan is my favorite, but then I think of Rum Raisin, Banana Pudding,Almond Joy, oh I can go on. At Hanks everything is good. My favorite Sundae is Butter Pecan ice cream topped with caramel , nuts , whip cream and more pecans and don't forget the cherry. A great suggestion by one of the staff. Hank's Ice Cream is AMAZING! Some of my favorite flavors are Rose Pedal, Creamed Corn, Butter Pecan (Best of the Best), Mango Madness, Grape Nut, Apple Pie, and Ginger. Everyone of them taste fresh and homemade. This ice cream is among the best of the best. The staff is extremely friendly, down-to-earth, and patient. I'd give Hank's a perfect 10 anyday! Hank's has the best ice cream! Everything tastes extremely homemade. My favorite ""exotic"" flavors are the Creamed Corn ice cream and Rose Petal ice cream. The Butter Pecan, Banana Pudding, and Almond Joy are also excellent. They didn't have a certain flavor that I wanted, and they told me to call a couple days before I came the next time and they would make some for me. The staff is so friendly, and you can't beat the prices. I drive two hours each way just for Hank's--seriously. Pros: Staff, Flavors Cons: Absolutely none. more

Words cannot really describe how good the ice cream at Hank's is but I will say this - it is my understanding that the pecans are raosted by the owner himself for that wonderful butter pecan ice cream he creates. Just try it once and you will be a customer for life. The banana pudding ice cream, yes, banan pudding ice cream is wonderful, too. Trust me, you are in for a treat. more
