Wow! What a find! This place is a great value, esp. if you go on a Tuesday, when they have a $20 "fixed price" special. Eight of us went for dinner and tried to diversify our selections to get a good sampling of the menu. We each had a little bit of each other's selections and were all very impressed with our 3-course dinners. The calamari, pomme frites, and bananas foster were particularly good. I liked what I tried from everybody's entree, but preferred my steak (I was really in the mood). Our waitress was excellent, too. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. I can't wait to return! Tip: Don't talk about your friends when they go to the restroom. They'll be able to hear you. Ha ha! Pros: PRICE, selection, service Cons: Our table seemed too close to the next (but we were a group). more

Great place! Love their food! Prices are great, and the ambience is perfect....is really cozy, hip, ...and they have a good selection on their wine list. more

Go to Halite on Tuesday nights. You get a choice off the menu (including specials) of one app, one entree and one dessert for $20! Best deal ever! Pros: Good Food, Good Value, Good Service Cons: SMALL more

Excellent food served even better 12/2/2004

A very intimate and affordable restaurant with creative food to fit different palates. Service is just about perfect -- the wait staff is always there but never intrusive. Pros: Great food, Free parking, Superb service more

Halite 4/25/2004

Been to Halite four times so far. Service is consistent and courteous. However, they only accept reservations for parties of 6 or more, so be prepared to wait after 7pm, when it gets crowded. Food has a retro-appeal, and the prices come from another era as well. Our party of six dined for less than $150.00 including tip. For appetizers, try the Deviled Eggs or Fondue. For dinner, the Danny Melt is a refined take on the patty melt, and the rib dish is to die for. Deserts are fun as well. One complaint, management should drop the monkfish, it's endangered.
