Tried on a weekend first, but it was too busy so came back on week night. The food is great, especially the sushi. Dragon Roll rocks! Sushi chef is also amusing. Service was okay, very friendly, but a bit directionless. Overall, great food and prices. Pros: Food, Prices Cons: Can be Crowded more

Great Food 5/30/2003

When it's busy service can be pretty slow, but the food and prices are excellent. The sushi is also my favorite in Portland. The Udon is handmade, not bought, and is very good. If you like your Udon on the soft side make sure you tell them when you order it as their noodless are normally firm. Great food, but don't go expecting a quick meal and you'll be happy. Pros: Good Food, Value, Good Sushi Cons: Sometimes Slow, Sometimes Crowded more

EXCELLENT FOOD! 5/20/2003

The sushi is awesome - almost as big as Saburo's, but much better quality. Their udon is excellent, and is homemade - sometimes you can even watch the proprietor make the noodles for your meal. The wait staff is always friendly too. About the only complaint is that one can wait awhile for seating or their food when the restaurant is busy (weekends are busiest). The quality of the food more than makes up for any wait, in my humble opinion. Don't be afraid to ask the proprietor about items not listed on the menu - he may be able to whip up a ""chef's special"" for you if he's not too busy!
