I routinely dye my own hair with great success. I went to hairspace to get my roots bleached so I could redye my hair. My friend is a stylist in training there, so she said she could bleach my roots inexpensively, because she's still learning. If that were the only thing that happened that evening, I would be writing a fantastic five star review right now. Unfortunately, Zina said it would be best to get my hair dyed as well, while I was there. She implied that I wouldn't be able to get the conditioning treatment if I didn't choose a color from the ones they had available. I was torn between a bright vibrant red or a bright vibrant pink. The stylists there convinced me that pink would suit me best, (probably because my hair was pink when I went in). I told them that if I went with pink I wanted it to be really bright, so that people would know upon seeing it that it wasn't purple. So I paid for the pink dye. Zina said she was mixing a little bit of purple with it so it would be more vibrant. I noticed when the dye was being applied that it was too purple, and expressed concern, but was assured that it would come out bright pink. When it was done, my worst fears were realized, because it came out a very dark depressing shade of purple. I was so upset that I had to wait several days before I was calm enough to call them about it. When I called, they told me, without seeing my hair, that it couldn't be dark. I insisted that it was, and they accused me of getting ""attitude"" and rudely hung up on me.
I've since filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I've never been so insulted in my life.
I would recommend that anyone who wants their hair to come out the way they want it to should stay far away from this place.
I would further recommend that anyone who wants to be treated with dignity and respect also stay away from this place.
They should not have a license with how badly they handle their business.
My significant other actually called them to take issue with how they treated me and they referred to her as ""people like you"" I'm really not sure what they were getting at, but was very insulted.
