Hair We Are

This place is soooo far behind times, it is nuts, first they need a makeover and retrain your personal!, If you look at the years that most of comments were made, it is 2012 and most were made in the late 90`s to bad someone calls and ask for something that I wanted, broke my right hand fingers , so, it is very hard for me to do this , you know wash or untangle my hair, I was booked for one hour, I asked for my hair to be french braided, also I told the person that cut my hair that it was layered ,but they kept saying , no it was not, but sorry yes it is and still is , that why I ca not understand why if you call and you are booked for one hour that, what you tell the person, who answer`s the , an up to date hair salon, has a person , who books your appt. and also makes sure that you are put in with the person ,who can do what you ask for, really it is not that hard, like they need to go to hair show`s learn new things, but guess they do not, yes I used this on and off for over17 years, but they need help bad, now let me see, I now have hair that is so uneven, it is unreal, yes I know I did not have my hair blow dried, because ii would of made more tangles, so we also took 1 1/2 inches, anyway when I saw my hair when it was dry , I could not understand why she did so bad, really bad, and to be told that my hair was not layered , when both my Daughter and myself knew it had been . This place needs to be retrained, I have the most uneven hair ever, they are so old school it is crazy, but to be charged 50.00 for something that looks like crap, this is the place to go, also I know I have had paid this price before but I ALSO HAD A LOT MORE THINGS DONE! If you want a good cut find somewhere else to go, so your hair does not look like mine !I was there Aug the 9th of this year 2012. So good if you go to them! more

I am a man, and the kind of haircut I ask for, is the kind where you walk out looking really good, but no one says, ""hey, you just got your hair cut?"" That is what I love about how easy it is to talk to Lynn. She gets it. In the past, I've gone to stylists, who say one thing, and do another. They cut they way 'they' want, instead of how I want it. I was letting a friend ( a professional stylist) do my highlighting for years. It wasn't always what I wanted, and I had to have it ""fixed"" a few times. I finally had enough and while searching online I saw an advertisement for Hair We Are stating they were experts in color correction. My colorist Biz greeted me upon arrival and I felt instantly comfortable. She took me back to discuss what I wanted. She picked up on what I had in mind right away, made some suggestions and got to work. Biz gave me the exact color and highlights I had been wanting for so long. She really nailed it and I am so happy and have had lots of compliments. I am extremely picky about my hair and often don't like it right away until I""get used to it"", None of that here, I walked out loving it and still do! I'll be back for more! I went to Hair We Are because of how great a friend of mine always looks..I was SO pleased with my haircut! I have EXTREMELY thick hair, and I have always struggled to find a way to make it look thinner and more flattering. Beth was able to thin it out without making it look choppy or strange, and it doesn't need to be ""done"" every day to look nice, a huge bonus! And color! She took her time to correct the color of my hair, and recommended what she thought would work best. She continuously monitored the color application on my hair and touched it up until she was happy with it. She told me that if for some reason I wasn't happy with it, to come in and see her and she would correct it - gratis. After a nightmare of a time with my last coloring, I really appreciated her work. I can just wash and go, which I think is the earmark of a great haircut! I would recommend this salon to anyone! Pros: Professional-experts in color. Cons: None that I know of !!! more

This is an exceptional salon with a great atmosphere. My first visit was an appointment with Linda, and she did a wonderful job on my hair. It was obvious that she, as well as the other stylists there are quite skilled in technique and knowledgeable about how to keep the hair and scalp healthy. Kathy called to confirm my appointment and review what I was having done earlier that day. When I arrived she took me immediately and gave me a great shampoo, and prepared me for my appointment with Linda. Linda was friendly, professional and courteous and by the end of my appointment, I felt like we were old friends. She really knows hair color well, but none-the-less, she did not feel shy about consulting with Bonnie, the owner, who is acknowledged as a master colorist in the field. Linda promoted the importance of proper hair care throughout my visit. I had my eyebrows tweezed and waxed while I was there, and they look perfect! I couldn't be happier about my experience. This salon exceeded my expectations...I will be back again. Pros: Great atmosphere-competent and knowledgable. Cons: None. more

What can I say about this salon. I love the warm and inviting atmosphere. The stylists are friendly and professional. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a great style and a healthy head of hair. It's refreshing to find a salon where you can actually relax. Bonnie Rooney has been my stylist for two+ years and I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. She takes my adventurous ideas and transforms them into color that combines beauty (if I may say so myself) and a natural look. She chose a style for me that was exactly what I wanted--versatile, trendy and most importantly...easy to handle. Almost a year later, I am still happy with the service I receive and there is no one else allowed to touch my hair. She also does my preteen daughter's hair and makes her the envy of all her little friends. :) Everyone in there is upbeat, friendly and very helpful. I have never seen a person walk out of there without an awesome hairstyle. They are all amazing! I always recommend Bonnie Rooney's Hair We Are when I get compliments on my hair. This is a really fabulous salon. They advertise that they specialize in color. They are not kidding. I learned more about my color in the 2 hrs I spent there than ever in my life. I got my nails done on my 1st visit there. I get tons of compliments. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.I highly recommend this salon to relax and get away. I felt like I was at my sister's on a Saturday going through her closet. Great Experience.. The Salon itself is spacious-- both interior and in the gracious response of the stylists---who combine professionalism, with a fun, and warm atmosphere. I really can't say enough, except that I have no need to get my hair done in NYC anymore. Bonnie is amazing. Before, I used to settle for the same 'Plain Jane' hairstyle. However with all the things changing in my life I decided my hairstyle should change too.There are those hairstylists out there that ask you what you would like to do with your hair, listens, and do the opposite of what you described. Not Bonnie, she listens to your requests but adds character to your description of the style you desire. I love my color. I love my hairstyle & and I love my stylist. I highly recommend Bonnie. I feel so good, I am BEAUTIFUL! Look at my highlights!!! Perfect. This is the best. place, and they made me feel so good. Even the waiting room was great, tons of magazines to look at, plenty of room. Not crowded. And everyone was so nice. Fun and friendly. But, most of all, I LOOK GREAT! If this was two days ago, I wouldn't have been able to write, because my eyes were filled with tears. I did exactly what everyone tells you not to do, don't try this at home. \r Well, guess what, I DID! and guess what? They were right. \r I have a friend who had been trying to get me to come here for years. Normally, i wojuld make an appointment, but I was first in the parking lot on a thursday morning, and I must have been lucky because they took me right away and an hour later it was bustling. \r Two of the stylists, including the owner, Bonnie, looked at my color (and my cut, i couldn't resist here either at home). they took there time to figure out the best way to fix my color. Whew!! and Wow!. What happened next took almost 3 hours. They rescued me!!!\r As soon as was done, the very first thing I did, was to get them some flowers. They are realliy good at what they do. Believe me. Pros: Very professional. They fixed my do-it-yourself mess. They are friendly too. Cons: None. more

I must admit that I have been a steady customer of Hair We Are since we purchased a week-end home in 1998. What a delight to have a great local salon where I can relax, and have my hair ready for the weekend, without waiting. Do I get my nails done here? You bet. It's safe, and I don't have to worry. But, most of all, I love the stylists. Bonnie is amazing. She asks all the right questions. And knowledgeable. I can't imagine anyone more experienced in hair color. All thumbs up. I have been disappointed by the manicures and pedicures you receive at those nail salons found in shopping centers, where they rush you through and don't bother to take care of your cuticles and don't cover the entire nail with polish. I always feel they are in such a hurry to get to the next customer. It was refreshing to go to HAIR WE ARE and have Cindy give me a decent manicure and pedicure. I felt that although it took a little longer, it was well worth the time. Their personal care and very friendly atmosphere was a pleasure and I will continue to go there from now on. If you want the personal attention to your needs, then Hair We Are is for you!!\r \r By the way, their tanning salon is also better than most. I personally find standing in a booth to get a tan, is better than lying on a bed that so many have been on before you sweating, even though you can clean it up, how clean is it really. Having just moved to Hudson and needing a house, daycare, doctors, etc., hair care was way down on my list of things to find. But once I needed hair help, Hair We Are made the search very easy. All I did was Google Hair Stylist in Hudson, NY and they were the only salon that had an actual website where I could see their address, services, and prices. I got an appointment right away with Bonnie and everyone was so nice, I immediately felt at ease. Now when I go everyone knows my name and says hi. Bonnie is very easy to talk to and she really cares that I like what I see before I leave. Finding a good salon may not seem like a big decision but it isnt always easy. The folks at Hair We Are not only made the decision easy but they continue to make it easy to keep coming back!! EXCELLENT!!! Pros: Great people, great service, easy to find more

When I moved to this area after living in or near major metro areas all my life, I thought it was going to be difficult to get a decent haircut at any price. I've had some great stylists in the past, and I'm kind of picky! I've been to Hair We Are three times now for a cut, wash and blowdry, and have been pleased each time. They strike a nice balance between doing what you ask for, and giving input when it's needed. The environment is upscale enough in a professional sense, without being snobby or over the top. Awesome. This salon was recommended to me by a friend. I have really curly hair. I just wanted them to get rid of my split ends and not cut too much. From the shampoo on, everything was just right.
