I have always had a good experience here. Joe and Robin have each done a great job time after time. They ask me what I want to do this time and they actually listen. The salon is definitely upscale in appearance but the atmosphere is super laid back. Great combination. I highly recommend trying the salon. more

What a shame. Gorgeous salon, great location, aveda products, but the most unpolished, substandard employees. Does the owner of Hair Hair (btw, what a dorky name!) really think people would pay top dollar for less-than-mediocre service? I'll never return and warn others that, while it looks like a great place, it's not. more

I had been having my hair colored and cut at Hair Hair for 2 years. One of the owners always did my hair and he did a good job and was always friendly. However, he has had to be out for the past two hair cutscolors and I have had a young woman do my hair. Both times she did not ask what I wanted in a style. The ""last"" time I was there I told her that my blond highlights had turned brassy and I wanted to have them toned down. She said I needed an all over color and wanted to know if I wanted to go solid. I said no, I would still like highlights around my face. So, when she was washing my hair she told me that I have two options, 1 - sit under a dryer or 2 - walk out with wet hair. I told her I had to go to work after this appointment and preferred a blow dry because I have curly hair. This also helps me see my cut and see the color. She told me she would dry the bangs but that was it. She proceeded to do this, with no gel or any de-friz (on curly hair). I told her they were too long. She pulled them out in front of me and chopped them. I then took the dryer and did my own hair. The cut was terrible, the color a solid black. I hated it. She said to wash it and it will come out. I then called the owner, David, that was not out on medical leave, and he told me that was her decision if she styled my hair or not and that it was a favor. She had already done my hair roots to end and she wasn't supposed to he said and that was a complimentary service. I reminded him that I paid $185 for this ""compliment"" that I do not like. He was very rude, he interrupted me, not once did he treat me as a valued client. I have never had such rude treatment as I have experienced there. Their website states that you receive a style with your cut and color...hmmm. more

First I'm not really sure where the other ladies were from who wrote the nasty reviews of Hair Hair Salon and Spa, but my experiannces have always been stellar!!! I have my hair cut,colored,foiled on a regular basis and i am always very happy. The staff as a whole are pleasant and professional and always accomadating to any request. I have traveled all over the world and having settled in Helena I must say they are top notch with anyplace. I would highly recommend them to any and all my friends. more

What a great experiance,great comforting tea knowledgable staff with a helpful friendly deamenor. I had a cut and color and it was the best ever all my friends raved. I give Hair Hair a true thmbs up from start to finish amd highly recommend them and woul go back for more. more

Let me preface this review by stating I have never before left a bad review anywhere or about anything, but feel compelled to do so because of the glaring disparity between what I paid for and what I received at Hair Hair Salon in Helena. I have had bad hair experiences before, they happen, but I have NEVER asked for my money back before. I am new to town and saw that Hair Hair was an Aveda Salon, so I already expected certain standards going in. I had no one to request, so I was given to a stylist fresh out of beauty school. Within the first five seconds of the haircut it was clear that not only was this an inexperienced stylist, there was no way that she had ever had Aveda training. I have a layered hair cut that I am growing out, but had not had my hair cut since late June and now it is October, so there is plenty of room for trimming and shaping. Having just moved to the area and building a home, I was very pleased to find an Aveda salon in Helena. Unfortunately,my experience with Hair Hair was less than Happy Happy. One of the owners had given me a tour and a menu of services and prices. When I made my facial and massage appts a month later, the prices had gone up $10 each, $95 for a facial and the same for a massage. Not a big deal, but I told Maria, who made my appt, that I wanted the hour and half massage, even if it was $95. When I arrived, I was taken upstairs, and since I had a morning appointment, the rooms were freezing. Cayla spent half an hour taking my skin "health history" and having me smell fragrances for my facial-I asked her if this time was coming off my facial, but she assured me it wasn't. My facial lasted only 45 minutes,not the hour that was listed on the menu. She was coughing the whole time, said she was trying to quit smoking and also had bronchitis, and apologized when she had to spit phlegm in more

The Hair Hair Salon and Spa is a premier Aveda Salon in Helena. They are a fulll service salon and day spa. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I went there when I was in Helena and one of the owners David cut my hair. I was very impressed with his ability. more
