I was looking for a friends spa when I noticed a site for the Hair Gallery. I used to go a few times several years back and I see someone has written something regarding my experience. I was the victim of a sexual assault by former massage therapist Richard Wilson at the Hair Gallery. I do not blame the spa. The man was well versed in grooming his victim, manipulating the situation to make me appear less credible and he had no prior record. He was good at the abuse he did, I do not believe I was the first. By the end of my session, his hands had covered every inch of my body and all I could do was close my eyes and pretend it wasn't happening to me. When he finally stopped, I slapped a half-assed smile on my face, paid the bill for fear of retaliation and pretended like nothing happened as I wasn't going to tell anyone. I just wanted to shower and forget the whole thing. I ended up confronting the issue eventually but was not believed as there was no proof, (word against word), and the massuese had already manipulated a story to discredit mine. I didn't expect the business to drop him but he wasn't suspended until 10 days later - he had touched more women with his abusive hands. I eventually went to trial, knowning it would only be a personal win for my internal spirit. My only hope is that all spas research and monitor their massage therapists, and provide protection for their clients when an accusation is made, keeping that protection until otherwise found in favor of the therapist, as it is only fair.
Pros: Small getaway
Cons: unknowing of how to handle a situation of extreme measure
