Shelby is the sort of stylist you always dream of having. Not only dose she actually listen to what you want (which is MUCH more then I can say for some others) but she is skilled enough to make it work for you. She doesn't slap a doo on your head and kick you out the door; she customizes it to your personal needs. She actually cares about people being happy with their hair! I've been going to Shelby for 7 years now, (yes, 7 years!) and not once have I had a cut or color that has been anything other then perfect and amazing! You know that feeling, when you look in the mirror a day or two after getting your hair done, and you are excited all over again? You don't? Well, if you go to Shelby, you will! more

Shelby has been doing my hair now for 2 years and she always gets it right! I show her a pic and she customizes it just for me. I have always gotten absolutely fantastic cuts and color. Being a former hairstylist myself, I usually have to ""tweek"" when I get home, but not anymore!!!! I am so happy to have found Shelby and will follow her where ever she goes. She is bright, caring, really knows her craft and is willing to do what it takes to make you look your best from the consultation to the finished look. more

Shelby first did my hair years ago in Texas. I had always had the same cut, until she convinced me to try something a little different. Knowing my personality, she knew that I wasn't brave enough to try anything too crazy, but I ended up with the best cut I'd ever gotten. Hair is Shelby's calling! She can take one look and know exactly how to make it better! I continued to get fantastic cuts and color, until Shelby moved back to Vegas. I continue to rave about her, because I still haven't found anyone as great at their job as she is! Recently, I took a trip to Vegas, and guess what...called Shelby to get a cut and color, and it was phenomenal as usual. She is so worth it!!!!!! Also, Shelby is super friendly and great to talk to. I have gone to see Shelby many times and everytime I hop out of her chair, I feel amazing !! She is easy to talk to and is great with kids. She gave my son an amazing mohawk for the beginning of 1st grade and she cut my daughter's bangs when she was like 3; over a year and a half later, my daughter STILL says that SHELBY is the one who cuts her hair. Not only that, but Shelby got a personal invite from my daughter to her birthday party. Anyway, one time I told Shelby that I wanted highlights, and just to pick something that she felt would look best. It is a GREAT feeling knowing that I can trust her completely with my hair. Yes, it is only hair, it will grow back, can be changed, whatever, BUT when Shelby is the one with the scissors in her hands, you could fall asleep and rest assured knowing you'll wake up sexier than before. I couldn't count on my fingers and toes how many hair stylist I have been too. Theres those ""o my gosh what did i do"" hair jobs, there is the ""ehh its okay"" hair jobs and then there is the "" o my gosh!!! I LOVE IT!!!"" walk out of the salon strutting your stuff like you've never strutted it before hair jobs! Ill tell you this after Shelby cut AND colored my hair I walked out of Tonic ll struttin' like never before!! I walked in the salon with exactly what i wanted in mind, i went from drab dull brown to the most beautiful vibrant natural red I couldn't have dreamed of. I walked in told Shelby what i wanted she mixed up the miracle mixture and applied it with you undoubted skill and i couldn't have been more satisfied. Oh, and don't even get me going on the cut..PERFECT! She trimmed up my ends just right and gave me the only bangs ive ever liked on myself in my life!! She made me feel totally comfortable she's so sweet, down to earth, HILARIOUS, and very upbeat. I can honestly say I will continue to go to Shelby until I have no hair on my head to style! Shelby Kelsey not only has a special place in my heart, but is a phenonomal hair stylist! Her attention to detail is flawless, and I leave her salon looking and feeling like a million bucks. I went to Shelby with fine, limp locks looking for something creative to give my mane a little ""oooomph."" She did that and so much more. She took her time and made sure I left knowing how to maintain the beautiful job she did on my hair. Shelby is full of pizazz and someone I truly feel comfortable with, with a pair of scissors. My hair looks Breathtaking every time Shelby Kelsey cuts it. Before her I was getting those cool Supercuts Haircuts, where the use the buzzer for everything. Not so with Shelby. Her attention to detail is bar none. She uses only scissors and has this really cool razor thing to clean up my neckline. Some guys say it?s gay or something to go a stylist but when it comes to Shelby, she makes me feel so comfortable and calm. Kind of like your chillin? with your boys, ya know. She?s fantastic and your dumb if you go to anyone else. Just sayin?. more

A handful of hairstylists have worked on my long locks and they've all been anywhere from informal to impatient. I recently moved to Vegas from New York City where a top N.Y.C. hair dresser did my hair since I was a teen, and I can say without hesitation that Shelby Kelsey is far better with the fine art of color and cut then he ever was. She is also only a fraction of the cost! Every time I walk out of Tonic II, which is where her wondrous works are located, I leave with the best head of hair that a women could ask for! I've been coloring my hair for years and found that getting that ""perfect"" hair color is inconceivable and can give you a terrible head ache at times. But I am here to thankfully state that every time Shelby lays those miracle hands of hers on my head, I receive better then perfect. She mixes up exquisite combinations and is without doubt the ultimate hair dresser. Not only is her work flawless and of the highest quality, but her delivery is what really makes me undergo true satisfaction. I spontaneously found Shelby online when i was frantically looking for a new hairstylist due to my move. I've never met someone, that once was a complete stranger, so easy going and down to earth. I was thoroughly comfortable with her within the first 10 minutes of my initial appointment. I am without doubt a client for life and recommend her to everyone I know! Take my word for it, you'd be absolutely foolish to look for someone better then her, because she is a cut above the rest (no pun intended). more

I've been going to Shelby for years and I have never once left her without great looking hair! My hair was horrible before I started going to Shelby - dry, fine, and lifeless from years of having extensions and bad bleach jobs. I never have to worry about that again. She does an incredible job with color - she always mixes up the perfect combination for me. She also gives amazing hair cuts and blow dries! From what I've seen, she has a wide variety of clients with all different kinds of hair and they all seem very happy when they leave! Not only is she incredibly talented, she has an awesome personality that makes you actually enjoy the time you spend in her chair. I'll always be loyal to Shelby and I've recommended her to everyone I know. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! more

I stumbled across Shelby, wasn't referred and really knew nothing about her, didn't care to know at the time. I was desperate for a good color with low lights and highlights without turning my hair platinum blonde. My last few experiences here in Vegas have been awful and overpriced for what I received. I have paid in ranges of $110 to $205 for cut and colors most of my adult life and have been at the mercy of the stylist for their knowledge. I don't like chunky color, just more natural. I have medium to long hair that has a natural wave to it and haven't changed the style in over 5 years, until yesterday. I told Shelby what I wanted based on my previous coloring experiences, and she didn't agree with me. For the first time in my entire life I found a hair stylist that knows what the heck she is doing and that sometimes the client isn't always right. It's easy for a colorist or stylist to tell you that they can achieve the color or cut that you want. Most stylists and colorists are ""yes"" people that will tell you that despite your current level of damage or the texture of your hair that they are the skilled ones that can do anything and that they don't ""see a problem"" getting your head to look like what you're asking for. It's b.s. and most everyone has walked out of salon feeling cheated in one way or another. I am a middle aged mom that needs a respectful but playful haircut and Shelby delivered. She cut my hair dry and while she was cutting I could see how my hair was laying and how much movement she was creating. It was sexy, whispy and full of texture. The color was exactly what she said it would be, natural looking blonde with some light brown low lights. I was impressed even more so that I wasn't left with the blow-dry shock of ""what the hell is this?"" I was ecstatic! Her prices are right in line with what you'd expect to pay if someone could actually give you exactly what you want the first time, with no corrections. You will always have to pay more for a cut and color if your hair is long and you are getting what you pay for with Shelby. She is worth every penny and then some to never have to experience that shame of overpaying for a crappy cut and then having to live with it for the next few weeks until it grows out! I scheduled my next appointment with her on the spot. Shelby may look unconventional to us middle aged traditional women but don't let the cover fool you, she is a no nonsense girls's girl and a guys girl all wrapped into one! A perfect diamond! Pros: Extremely skilled! Cons: Doesn't work for free! more

I've been going to Shelby for years and she is fantastic. Not only is she the nicest, most attentive stylist I've ever met but she is also the most talented (trust me on that- I worked in the spa/salon industry for years). Before a job interview, a party or a big date, I always have her do a blowdry. Her blowdries give my fine hair SO much volume! You will never regret having Shelby do your hair. I've bleached my own hair for years and decided one day to do it with blueing. I washed it out when I noticed that the blue was clinging to my hair. So my blonde hair was orange and blue. I found Shelby online and she said she was a colorist. I explained my situation, she said no problem. I had mentioned doing my hair ALL honey colored.She said she could get the darkest hair blonde without bleach. Super! So when I got there she got the blue out and then put some dark streaks in. I was waiting for her to get the orange out but she never did. Then instead of making my hair honey, she ""did her own thing"" and put ash on it. Now I have orange and green hair with dark zebra looking streaks in it. It cost $170.00. Even Geela, a gal that works at Tonic II said Shelby should give me my money back because my hair looks ""muddy"" and that it would take a couple of visits for Geela to color my hair correctly. more

I went to another salon in town (the Loft), and I got horrible color not once but twice (the second was a redo). I found Shelby by searching for ""corrective highlights"" in Vegas and found she works up the street at Tonic II. She fixed my highlights from the other salon, and now my hair looks better than it did before I even got it colored. She knew right what to do and made me look like a normal human being! I think it takes a lot of talent to not only create great color, but to fix someone else's mistakes too. She did a GREAT JOB. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Perfect Hair more

When I first met Shelby I loved her style and her ambience. I was able to see her work first hand on a couple of clients she had that I was associated with. Being a former hair stylist it was very hard for me to find somebody that I could trust with my precious hair. We all have horror stories about going to a stylist and leaving with nothing close to what you had wanted. Some stylist take it upon themselves to do what they see fits best. Well you wont get that with shelby. She is attentive she,gives the best and listens to what the client's want. My hair was beyond any help, or so I thought. She formulated a color just for me and it is absolutely wonderful. She is a master. Her cutting skills are out of this world. Not only is she absolutely out of this world with her color and styling!!!!!!!! She gives the best Shampoo that I have ever had. I would follow Shelby anywhere, I have never had so many compliments on one hair style in my whole life. So wether you are looking to change your entire hair style or you would like a hair cut, blowdry, highlights, low lights, or just one of her out of this world shampoos, you are definitely at the right place. Shelby is by far one of the most talented stylist that I have ever met. The salon where Shelby is located at is awesome, everybody there enjoys there work to the fullest. It is an up beat salon that totally caters to the client. This is one stylist that you would tell all your friends to go to. She is a hair genius.I will never go to another stylist again. Shelby is AMAZING with color and a scissors...actually for my hair she uses EVERY (no exaggeration...seriously) cutting device she has! I always feel comfortable and confident that she will transform my head into a masterpiece...and I have never been disappointed. I TRUST HER COMPLETELY (emphasis added). I even recommended that a very good friend of mine see her for her ""wedding hair."" Because I know she won't be disappointed on her big day! I have no regrets or hesitation when it comes to choosing her as my stylist....I am her client till death do us part!! Pros: Two Big Thumbs Up!!!! Cons: None...she is amazing! more

Without a doubt I have the world?s worst hair and it wasn't until Shelby got a hold of me that life started to take on a more rational tone. She is very patient and careful yet has a sense of flair that truly reflects the needs and expectations of her clients. The care she takes is far beyond anything I?ve ever experienced and it?s almost like she is cutting each hair individually. Shelby also takes the time to explain every step in the ?styling? process and insures that her client is satisfied with the cut and never tries to sell product over style. I met Shelby a couple of months ago when I dropped by the salon she was working at and saw her in action & was really impressed the way she took care of the girl she was working on. I called back to make an appointment with her the next day she was amazing my hair was wow i have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair and i just tell them if you want wow hair too go see Shelby she really cares about her clients and it shows by the way we all refer other people to her. more
