Have eaten here for years, usually call in order to take home. Lately, all our orders have had mistakes, some big, some small, but EVERY order for the past 6 times has been screwed up. And the order last night was not only not complete but the quantity of the food was about half of what is usual. We called the manager and complained, His response is that he has a bunch of new people. He was nice enough and apologized but I think we're not gong to deal with them anymore. We like the food but it's not worth the hassle of having it wrong every time, especially for the portion size we got. One of the Best Viet food places in Austin 11/14/2008

This is one of the best Viet food places I have tried in Austin. I was feeling under the weather because of my allergies so I decided to go have some soup for lunch. I had their beef noodle soup and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. The beef and noodles were good portion in combination with the tasty broth. It made a perfect meal for lunch. I had to add some hot sauce because I like my soups hot and spicy. I felt 100 percent better after drinking all that soup. The service was fast and courteous. My order was brought out within five minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This place will be on my list of ""favorite places to have lunch."" First time to eat Vietnamese was very positive 8/27/2007

I had no idea what to expect, but heard too many good things about this restaurant, and boy were they right on. Try the Pho Tai Chin I believe it is called which I believe is eye of round steak and brisket mixed in the Pho. Excellent. Only downside, Iced Tea was nothing great but that's minor. \r \r The waiter was very friendly, also they didn't accept Amex. We will definetly go back. Pros: Pho is excellent more

Very Good Vietnamese Food! 11/20/2006

This has been a HOT SPOT for lunch where I work for a long time. The food is delicious and the service is fast and courteous. They have some of the best pho and vermicelli bowls I have had in Austin, and I prefer to go here over 888 (which is not too far away). The only downside to the restaurant is that it is really small, so you have to get here early to catch a seat for lunch. Other than than, everyone that I have taken here for their first time have enjoyed the large food portions at a great price! Pros: Good Food, Cheap, Fast Cons: Crowded for lunch more

We eat here weekly 8/16/2006

Delicious. We've eaten here weekly for over 4 years. The pho is the best around. The vermicilli dishes are delicious. Embarrasingly, we haven't branched out too much on the menu, because we like the same dishes over and over. Yum! more

The Bun Thit Nuong is to die for . . . 10/16/2005

I went here over the weekend. I'm from Corpus and I went to Austin craving some great Bun Thit Nuong from somewhere and I checked out some of my options online. The closest place to where I would be staying was Hai Ky. I ordered the Bun Thit and my friend ordered the Ginger Steak. His was delicious too. I was impressed with the amount of food you get for the cheap prices. I left full and had almost a whole meal's worth of food left over for the next day. Our bill was $15.00 (including the tip). Can't beat this place, I'm definitely coming for 2nds. more

Divine!!! 6/6/2005

I found this restaurant by chance and have not stopped going back! The waitstaff and cooks are kind as can be, and the atmosphere is very fun. More importantly, the food is just amazing. I have gone many many times, and I am always impressed. You can't go wrong with any noodle dish or soup, and the thai sandwhich appetizer is unique and tasty. Don't leave without trying a bubble tea (passion fruit is a winner). The prices are VERY reasonable, and the portions are big enough to have leftovers. This place totally ROCKS! 2/22/2005

I've eaten at Hai Ky at least seventy times and have introduced a half dozen friends to it and we all have to agree... Hai Ky is AWESOME! Every bowl of soup we've ever had is fresh, savory, flavorful, delicious, and made with such care and high quality ingredients that we look forward to our next trip as soon as we're back in the parking lot. It's a consistent home run... every single time! The stir fries, sesame noodles and #95 - Hu Tieu Xao are great too. I also like the great mix of ambient trance and mellow electronica they play here - it totally beats hearing Los Lonely Boys for the 105th time. Hats off to you, Hai Ky. It's places like here that make me enjoy eating so much! more

Perfect 9/8/2003

This outstanding restaurant has impeccable food, service, and ambiance. I cannot recommend it enough. The noodle bowls are served with lightly steamed fresh vegetables, the Vietnamese coffee is straight up Cafe Du Monde and condensed milk, it's Austin owned-and-operated... the list goes on.
