I went with a group of friends for dinner before the Paul McCartney concert and then went for a night cap afterwards. Great food and really nice people. Pros: service, food, location Cons: parking, one bathroom for guys more

Best Breakfast 9/22/2002

I try to eat here once a week for their excellent bluberry pancakes. The staff is a little slow but the food is worth the wait. It's nice sitting outside and see all the Printer's Row residents walking their dogs. A favorite local joint. Pros: Blueberry pancakes, Nice ambience Cons: Slow wait staff more

AWESOME 9/12/2002

As a Columbia College student, I must say that I have found the perfect local ""haunt"". I thought this place was just a burger joint (and from what hear, it has a great one), but it is so much more. Their beer selection on tap is awesome - many Belgian brews. And what a pleasant suprise to see Hummus and Edamame on the appetizer list. If you are only expecting burgers and onion rings, prepare to be suprised! Pros: friendly, cheap, decor Cons: music (Irish?) more

As a Columbia College student, I must say that I have found the perfect local ""haunt"". I thought this place was just a burger joint (and from what hear, it has a great one), but it is so much more. This place reminds me a a friendly pub. They have all these great beers on tap, and the bar has a really nice atmosphere. Their burgers are great--nothing fancy, just fresh and tasty. The servers are very competent and they'll stop and chat. Pros: Staff, Beer List, Burgers Cons: parking more

No Good 8/5/2002

I've eaten at three different Hackney's, and this is the worst one. Don't bother ordering anything but sandwiches. Everything else is horrible. And the sandwiches can be sub par. The service hovers when you first sit down, and then disapears completely before your entre arrives (late). I'm done with giving this place a chance. It's expensive, too. Cons: bad service, equally bad food, pricey burgers more
