We had read that a good bankruptcy attorney could cost upwards of $3000-$4000 and that trying to find a “cheap” attorney for $400-$500 could end up costing a lot more due to incompetence, hidden fees, etc. We found Hackett & Harris by Googling “bankruptcy + Oregon”, and their quote at the time was $1500 (not sure what it is now). It seemed like a happy medium so we had an initial consultation and were very happy with the information that was given to us. It seemed like bankruptcies are what they do and they really know their stuff. Our attorney ended up being Ryan Hackett and he and Paula (paralegal ?) were incredibly patient, fast working, and helpful. We always got a call or email back right away and all of our issues were handled competently and in a professional, quick manner. The bankruptcy hearing was incredibly easy, as they had put all of our ducks in a row beforehand, and we walked away feeling a huge relief from the burden of debts and judgments that had been hanging over our heads. My husband and I would definitely recommend them to others needing this service. No one wants to declare bankruptcy, but they made it a painless process.
