After a year of living in our new home and not knowing anything about septic tanks, we got a postcard from Burton & HL Goodwin that it was time to have ours pumped. I called to get more information and was told by the lady on the phone, Karen that it would be $175 (with my $10 off on my postcard) and they could do same or next day service. I had no idea if this was a good price or not because I've never had a septic tank before.
We scheduled it for the next day, and they never showed and I never got a call. I called back and talked to Karen several times, but it turned out their truck was broken. I lost 1/2 day of work that day. I rescheduled for the following week ""first thing in the morning"" and again, waited 1/2 a day before they showed up.
They pump my tank, then tell me it's $275, $100 more than I was told on the phone. He said for me to call Karen, which I did, and she said that I must have heard her wrong. The driver said that she's made this mistake 3 times before.
After talking to Karen, explaining that not only did I write it down, I also emailed my neighbor who had never had her tank pumped to give her their number and that it was $175.
They came off $10 for the time inconvenience. I paid, they left, the owner of the company, (or she said she was the owner), called me to ""apologize"", however she never apologized, she spoke over me and wouldn't let me finish my sentence, then told me the driver was an idiot and she was going to fire him for telling me that Karen had made this mistake before. She then went on to tell me ""she didn't need my business"" and hang up on me.
I would file a complaint with the BBB, but they aren't even accredited anymore.
Do yourself a favor, and hire someone else! These people are crooks and not interested in keeping their customers!
