Gutherie's River House

My last visit ensures that I'll never return- here's the rundown:\r \r 1) We ordered steaks; my wife ordered medium, mine mid-rare. They arrived rare and completely raw, respectively. I had cut into mine, and the SAME STEAK was returned to me- except instead of being cold and raw, it was now warm and raw- they had simply put my steak under a heat lamp. If I shell out $32 for a steak, I really expect better than that.\r \r 2. Worse, they'd replated the steak, and the "fresh vegetables" were STILL FROZEN, I'm not even joking. \r \r 3. The steak I ordered was supposed to come "Oscar Style" with crab and hollandaise sauce- except the hollandaise sauce was cold, and looked like it'd been smeared on the steak with the back of a spoon. Neither of us finished our meal.\r \r 4. The food was terrible but the service was great, so we paid (and tipped well.) Guess the fact we paid for the meal wasn't enough; Guthrie's gave themselves an extra 10 bucks.\r \r Bottom line: do NOT go there. Service is great, ba more

Took my parents to the river house for their anniversary and they could not accomodate a small family gathering and ask us to leave - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL. \r \r PIZZA PUB, RENO'S AND THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT ARE ALLOT BETTER AND THE SERVICE AND SERVERS ARE GREAT AS WELL AS FOOD. more

I had horrible service here and will never return. As a proud resident of Somerset I am embarassed that such a place is open to our tourist. Please do not dine here!! I have been to the riverhouse once and the food and serive was terrible. It took 10 minutes for anyone to even take our drink order, and there were only about 15 people in the entire restaurant. Then the food tasted like it was made yesterday and warmed up! Horrible. The waiters had no sections designated to them. They just kind of ran around everywhere. Horrible!! I am so embarassed for my town to have this place open. Picasso's Bistro has been a good experience everytime! It's a great place for the Ohio Navy and, everyone to dine after a fun day on Lake Cumberland. The environment is roomy, romantic lighting, music, a bar, and customer service like you've never experienced. This is the kind of place I would open if I wanted to open a restaurant. The plating is artful. Since opening they have reached out to the less sophisticated palate as well as the foodies. Did I mention that they have a Great Bar. On my last trip I had a romantic one on one with my significant other. The food was fantastic, ambience was soothing and did I mention they have a Great Bar. Picassos Bistro is a great place to sit back and enjoy a nice meal and a beautiful view of the lake. The service is great. There is plenty of parking and usually no waiting to get seated. The food is always great and the prices are very reasonable. My family loves to eat there. I recommend it highly. more

Others have tried at this location and few have succeeded until now. With the capabilities of serving alcohol finally in hand this establishment has taken off as one of the best eateries in town. Spectacular lakeviews intice diners as they enjoy there meals ranging from burgers to filets. Moderate pricing makes it even better! more
