I have only lived in Miami for about a year and a half. I met Gustavo at an orchestral event! I went to get my haircut with Patricia, who works with Gustavo. Both Gustavo and Patricia made my haircut experience fun and comfortable! Patricia cut my medium-long hair into a short bob. I knew I needed a change so I put my hair into her hands and that was her suggestion. It ended up being completely chic. She was very, VERY thorough and the lines of the haircut were beautiful! The fact that it was so thorough made it all worth the money I was paying. All my friends and family LOVE it and I am completely happy! Everyone should go at least once! (Honestly, sometimes I feel uncomfortable at salons, but they were so easy to talk to and just really nice and fun! )...........GO! Pros: the comfortable atmosphere and awesome haircuts more

Gustavo did a truly amazing job correcting the mes that has been made of my hair and color since moving to Florida. He took the time to listen to my input and built from there. I now have healthy looking color rather than ""straw"". more

Talent, Warmth and Great customer service!! 12/24/2007

I picked Gustavo's salon based on these reviews on city search because I've been going to salons and getting decent service but wanted someone who was really talented, and professional to update my look. I'm so glad that I decided to see Gustavo because after 10 years of being in Miami, I've finally found a hairstylist who not only pays attention to what you want but also has the professional talented eye to give you what looks good and works with the hair you have. Before I was even done with my color, Gustavo and his crew had won me over with their friendly, attentive and professional demeanor. Gustavo did my highlights and they came out absolutely perfect....just what I had always imagined but nobody ever listened or paid attention before. Gustavo gave me a very chic haircut and it's completely changed not only my look but attitude because it's hot! :) My friends and family absolutely love it and my boyfriend is very happy :) Patricia and Gustavo give their customers their utmost attention and care and I can see why these reviews show people forming a long lasting bond with them...I certainly have done the same. I'm not going anywhere else from now on. If you want to be treated like royalty and get your money's worth, this is the place to go! Trust these guys they know what they're doing!!! Happy hair days! Patricia is FAB 12/20/2007

I have been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. It is so important for me to let you all know just how fabulous the entire staff is at Gustavo Briand Studio. Every time I come to get my hair highlighted and cut I walk out feeling and looking like a million dollars. Recently, I went to see Patricia. I was looking to change my look. I got the wild idea to chop my medium length hair short like Sharon Stone. When I told her what I wanted to do she was so excited to be able to work her magic shears. The entire time, a good hour and a half, Patricia made every effort to make sure that I was feeling okay about the change. She is so attentive, communicative, and talented. When we were done I felt fresh and renewed. Even more important I look great!!! I can not recommend this salon enough. If you are need of corrective color, a hair cut, condiotioning treatment, you name it. Make sure you come to Gustavo Briand Studio. You to will feel and look like a million dollars. It is true pampering. Pros: Everything here is fabulous Cons: There is nothing negative that I can say. more

I don't like my haircut 12/20/2007

I liked my haircut when I walked out of the salon, but after I washed it, It looked like a ball of tumbleweed. It's the wrong cut for my thick curly hair and it's not a wash and go style. It's too short to fix, so I had to chemically straighten my hair by another stylist to make it manageable and presentable. I was also charged $90 which is way more than I expected to pay. more

Best Styles on the beach 12/17/2007

The best salon I've come across is miami! As soon as i walked in the door i felt at home.....clean, modern design and welcoming people. As a former model, i've had my hair styled by many different people. Nothing has even come close to the style and cut that Gustavo offers. I highly recommend this salon! Best Hair Cut! 12/15/2007

The Gustavo Briand Hair Salon has one of the best atmospheres and the two best stylists in all of Miami Beach. Not only is it filled with modern, trendy furniture and stylist's tools, it also has beautiful music playing in the background and the kindest, most warm stylists. Incredibly nuturing, personable and caring, both Gustavo and Patricia make you feel instantly that you are the most important client. They also use all natural hair cleasing and styling products which made my hair feel not only cleaner but incredibly healthy. I have had the pleasure of working with both Gustavo and Patricia before, and both are superb artists. Both being very thorough and making sure that you very happy with your hair cut and style. Being in a very visual performing arts field, you must trust your stylists. Gustavo styled my hair last year for a performance and I received many, many commments on how beautiful my hair was. Recently, I had my hair cut by Patricia and it is not only the best cut that I have had in a VERY long time (I travel all the time), but it is also one of the first times that I have walked out of a salon knowing how to style my hear for everyday use because she took the time to teach me while she was styling. I got my hair cut by Patricia for the first time, and she was great! I have never had someone working on my hair who was so thorough. She took her time, and the cut in the end was great! Also, the salon has such a great atmosphere: it feels very welcoming and also very fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone! more

Gustavo Briand Salon 12/12/2007

I just moved to Miami Beach in September and desperately needed my hair cut and styled. I heard of the Gustavo Briand salon through some friends of mine whose hair cuts I really liked, so I decided to give it a try myself.I didn't really exactly know what I wanted when I came in, so I put complete trust in Patricia and what she thought would work with my hair; my only requirement was that I still wanted to put it up in a pony tail! I absolutely LOVE the end result; I actually have body and shape to my thin and fine hair. I can still completely put it up in a pony tail, and I just styled it myself this morning myself and it looks great! Patricia was VERY thorough and involved in the cut and style. Everyone in the salon was so nice and fun, it was a very pleasant experience! I highly recommend Gustavo Briand to anyone who is looking for a great cut and a fun relaxing experience! more

I love my haircuts! 12/11/2007

I have had my hair cut by Patricia twice now and i have loved her work each time. I can always tell that she takes care in her work, even if there are customers waiting anxiously for her to finish! It is always a pleasure to go into Gustavo's studio and I look forward to my visits. Besides, who can ask for more than a salon run by someone who love classical music and the arts, in general?! more

Gustavo Briand salon is like a quiet little oasis on the water where Patricia and Gustavo take care of whisking you away from drab and bring you back to fab. The atmosphere is very friendly and unassuming. Gustavo and Patricia are both masters at what they do. After 3 years of growing my hair very long and not without some trepidation, I decided that the experiment was over. Patricia cut my hair and she gave me a masterfully done style that is looking better and better as it grows in. Gustavo is the consumate perfectionist and together they are a great team. It's always a wonderful experience there. more

This is my best haircut and I've been living in Miami since 1969!!! 12/1/2007

I had my first haircut with Patricia at Gustavo Briand Studio last week. I have very weird hair: it's curly, but fine. It's thin in some parts and thicker in others. And I don't like to put a lot of effort into it to look good. That being said, even the best haircuts I've gotten in the past have only addressed some of those issues, it's never completely what I need. Patricia gave me a perfect haircut for my hair. It looks great and I barely have to spend 15 minutes blowing it to look compliment-worthy! The salon is very small and tranquil, which I like very much. I don't like bustling salons with chemical scents from hair dye and nail polish and people yapping on their cell phones! I will be a customer for a long time! more

Best Cut in South Florida (Ive tried them all!!) 11/30/2007

Upon my first arrival at Gustavo's Studio I was shocked at the ease of parking and the convenient and beautiful location across to water. I felt very comfortable with the personal attention that Gustavo gave to me after a hectic day. First off, the products are amazing and with a little extra money he supplies a vastly greater product then something for say 5$ less. Coming from NYC, I became accustomed to having the best, so I was a little skeptical in the beginning. Though his personallity and the way he asked questions on what I wanted made me feel better. In the end my hair always looks great and grows in well. I am now a regular customer of Gustavo's of about a year and would never try anywhere else (b4 hand I had many hair disasters elsewhere that CItySearch rates well!!). In fact, I am seeing him tomorrow! more

Best hair salon on Miami Beach - Top of the line and very friendly 11/28/2007

Gustavo is a the best hair stylist I ever had. I tried many salons in Miami Beach but I was never satisfied either because of the quality of the hair cut, or the atmosphere in the salon. Gustavo delivers on both of these things. I consider him to be a real artist with the way he cuts my hair. He gives great advice on which style fits you the best and does an awesome job. He really pays attention to detail. The studio is decorated very nicely. Most importantly he is a very friendly and fun guy to vist. more

What competition? 11/28/2007

I'm not really in to writing surveys that much but in case it's a must. I have been a customer of Gustavo's for sometime now and to be honest I would not change him for no one. Before going to Gustavo I would cut my hair in different places and I didn't like any of them. Thanks to him, I've have also changed my hair style to what he visioned me with and to this day I LOVE IT. Not only are his hair styles good, so is the environment. It's a very comfortable place with wonderful people. I really don't plan on going somewhere else. Pros: Everythings great Cons: Nothing more

I myself have afrocentric hair, and initially thought that Gustvo's services did not cater to my hair type. I have been proven wrong! I have left other hair stylists traumatized, unhappy, fried, essentially a complete mess. This time I left impressed with how healthy my hair looked, felt and moved. Best Haircut I've Ever Had! 10/26/2007

Gustavo is awesome! I was a little bit freaked out about cutting my hair short with a new stylist after having it long for ten years. I have tried other salons around Miami, but am not crazy about the unprofessional/gossipy beauty parlor atmosphere in a lot of them, or the pretentious, overpriced snooty salons that are abundant in South Beach. The studio is decorated really nicely with brown leather chairs and purple velvet curtains. He uses good products too. But the main attraction is the precise cutting and great styling I received. He really pays attention to detail- his training at Vidal Sasson really shows. Also, he is really fun to talk to! Pros: friendly, profeesional service, good parking, nice ambience more

Get the professional treatment, the stylist consults with you and then you get treated to a nice wash/soothing scalp massage, they use these awesome Davines products which I also, and I really was pleased with my haircut, I can't remember the last time I said that and really meant it...this time I do.
