Stay away!!!!!\r They asked more and more money after they dismantled my engine. My car red light is still on after rebuilt, they refuse to do anything to fix it. I still could not pass inspection. Many parts missed. \r Over charged me $2000 more than the price they quote to me.\r Worst shop ever. \r Stay away!!!!! more

I WOULD NOT RRECOMMEND! They have poor customer service. I choose not to use their services after they quoted me one price then jacked that price Up. I put half the money down and they refunded me 10% back. After I refused their service they took forever to bring my car back. I always had to contact them to find out what was going on. And I am still waiting on my refund a month later.... Thinking about taking then to small claim court. I would not refur anyone here. more

Stay away from this company. Check ConsumerAffairs.com and ripoffreport.com, also Google reviews and yellowpages.com under Gulftech Engines & Transmissions. Company names changes are indication of bad business. Also check the BBB complaints as there are many and they were stripped of their BBB title due to bad business. Good companies do not get stripped of BBB titles they once had. The other excellent reviews do not mean company does good business. I am stuck with them now and am going to take them to court due to 2x their work has failed (Oct 2014, Aug 2015). They have BBB complaints and were stripped of the BBB title. They do not conduct business honestly and their work is shotty & do not honor their warranty. If you decide to use them, dont be fooled by a low quote as they are surely to up it significantly and visit the shop and take pictures. Update: Aug 2015 - engine still is using water in radiator. My experience with this company is just as bad as everyone else. Thy picked my tuck up February 2 2015, I wanted a rebuilt engine. They old me it would take them 2 weeks, or about 10 business days. I went to picked it up in the middle of March. It was idling rough and had a oil leak. They told me the engine had to get use to the computer. I drove it 3 weeks it stop in the middle of the freeway. I had it towed to the shop.it's been there ever since that time now its July. Every time I call to receive an update, Mike tells me he's going make sure its done right this time This is the worst experience I ever had. I can't go to church on Sundays, work overtime on my job, nor take my family out to spend time with them doing family activities. Once you put a down payment on you vehicle. They got you. Be very careful of this company. Don't do it. more

After seeing some weird reviews, I was skeptical about trying Gulftech....\r This shop was so awesome! The people were very kind an upfront about prices and fixing my vehicle.\r Clearly these negative reviews are from people who don't understand how car repair works or have really crappy vehicles.\r I was told very honestly about what all the billing was for, and my car has been running great ever since. I've sent two family members to them as well, and we are all very happy with the service we've received.\r \r Thanks again, Gulftech! more

I took my vehicle for a rebuilt engine. They gave me this long speech on how honest they were. Gave me a quote of $2900. So I brought into his speech and drop the vehicle off. I was called back a few days later, only to tell me that its 6500 to fix. Never had a problem with any of the parts that all of a sudden needed to be fixed. Don't trust these guys. I will never use them again nor reccommend them. more

The Gulftech guys are awesome! I brought my car to them for a major repair thinking i was going to spend my whole savings getting it fixed, they did eveything they could to save me money and fixed it in a fast timely manner. Thanks guys I will recommend you to everyone! more

I LET GULF TECH DO MY 2000 CAMERY. $3900.00 LATER AND A BROKEN TIMING, THAT HAD A WARRANTY THAT LASTED 4000 MILES. THE ENGINE SOUNDED AND RAN GREAT FOR 1YR AND 10 MONTHS.APPROXIMENT MILES FROM CAR WAS DELVIRED 7000 MILES PLUS WRECHER. MR. ROBERT AT GULF TECH AGREED THAT ALL PARTS FOR MY ENGINE WERE TO BE ALL TOYOTA DEALER PARTS. I ASK MYSELF WHAT HAPPENED,BECAUSE.THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I TRUSTED THIS COMPANY AND IS THE RESULT. I OUT ALL THAT MONEY ,MY CAR HAS BEEN PARKED SINCE AUGUST 2014. IS THERE ANY HONEST PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THEIR WORKMANSHIP ANY MORE. Robert really wen above and beyond with me! Most shops will start the work then make a bunch of add ons, and you don't find out about it until you get the bill. Robert kept me informed through the whole thing. When they found an oil leak they called for authorization and updated my quote.\r Really impressed with the communication! more

I took my PT Cruiser there to have the engine fixed. They did a good job and had a 3 year warranty on the work. I brought it back recently when the engine mounts broke.\r They wouldn't cover the engine mounts with the warranty, because they never worked on them the first time.\r Robert explained everything to me and worked with me on getting it fixed. I should have read the contract better, but he did right by me. I recommend these guys. more

Jeep was leaking oil so I brought it hear. Got a quotes and had the work done. Got jeep back and 3 days later started leaking again. took it back and turned out to be a completely different problem than before. Fixed the new leak and everything is working great.\r \r Take your cars there if you have a problem! more

I had my truck towed here after my son broke the oil pan on a chunk of concrete. Robert gave me a tour of the shop and told me what they were going to do. He then gave me a quote and explained the work contract that I signed.\r Got a phone call 2 days later that my oil pump had also been damaged in the accident and needed to be replaced. I was told that it was going to cost more but that the truck wouldn't run without the pump. I gave authorization and they replaced the pump.\r Got the truck back and it runs great! I haven't even seen a spot of oil in my driveway!\r Ended up costing more than the original quote but I'm glad they called me before doing the additional work.\r Very Satisfied! more

gulftech engines 1/16/2012

these people are money hungry crooks. Said they were going to install a long block for 1595.00. Then charged 1203.10 over what I was qouted. Then when i got my pickup back had an oil leak because the seal was not properly installed or had not been replaced. I will burn this truck before take it back. I will have to pay at another place to pull the transmission to end thier screwup job. Please stay AWAY! more

We too had a negative experience with Gulftech Engines and have sought financial compensation for what we have clearly outlined as deficient service repair, inflated cost compared to quote, and extended repair times versus the original completion turnaround. more

STAY FAAARRRR AWAAAAAAYYYYYY FROM THIS PLACE! 10/15/2011

I was given a quote of $2,400 to put a new engine in my car when my car was complete after waiting 2weeks my total came to $4,852.27. Wow what a price jump.... Just 5,00 miles later after installing a NEW ENGINE a shop noticed OIL leaking from my oil pump housing area. I made an appointment with GULF TECH ENGINES whom installed my NEW ENGINE and told them EXACTLY what was wrong with it and where the oil was leaking from. I was told it would take 2 to 3 days to fix it, which turned into 5 days. I was told THEY DID NOT FIND A LEAK but they replaced my oil dip stick tube and 2 small gaskets on top of my engine and was charged $169.00. Got my car home and parked it, hours later noticed a fresh oil spot underneath my car... Took my car back to the guy who fixed replaced my oil pan gasket and WE looked under the car and guess what..... It was STILL LEAKING FROM THE OIL PUMP HOUSING.....so i called GULF TECH and was told ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR WASN'T LEAKING WHEN THEY HAD IT A FULL WEEK....... GULF TECH ENGINES ARE CROOKS AND RIP OFF'S. DON'T TRUST ANYTHING THEY HAVE TO SAY....... WISH I NEVER FOUND THIS PLACE, NOW I GOTTA PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THEIR WORK...... F*CKING CROOKS. more
