I just went to pick up my guitar from the Lynnwood store, which is at the Lynnwood Guitar Center. (which should've been my first warning.)

Total pro treatment! 5/17/2011

I took a Strat and a Tele in to Randy to have him do a the pro setup on them, and I was amazed at how good the work was. He was courteous, paid attention to my preferences as a player, and had my stuff done in under a week. When I picked up my guitars, I was very happy to see how much care he put into them. When I went in, I didn't tell Randy that I play for a living, just to see how me and my gear would be treated, and when I checked out the guitars at the shop and played a few licks to see how they felt, he said, ""Oh, I didn't know you were a real player!"" I said, ""No, you didn't, and you still treated my stuff the same as you do for the famous guys. Thank you."" Randy is first-class, all the way. Charlie at the Kirkland shop is a great guy, too. He called me no fewer than three times one day to talk to me about some special mods and setup work I asked him to do, just because he wanted to make sure he did it how I wanted. Parsons all the way, guys. more

Great Work From A Real Pro 6/5/2010

Took in a my lefty Strat and Telecaster for a few fixes. I had heard great things about Randy. Anyone who builds guitars for icons like Jimmy Page is all I needed to know. He did a great job on both of my guitars and the cost was more than reasonable. Bottom line: cheap things are not good and good things are not cheap. Randy is the only guy in Seattle that will ever work on any of my guitars. He is the best and a really nice guy! Rock on Randy and thank you!! Pros: Quality From The Best Cons: Nothing At All more

Great work on two guitars 1/20/2010

Just gave Parsons Guitars a try instead of American Music - had two set-ups done here in the last two weeks - an old 93 strat that hadn't been played in a while and had some neck issues, and a Gretsch 6120SSLVO that needed some work on the g string saddle. No rocket science was needed in either case. What I got was solid professional work that was done fast and effectively, priced fairly. Both guitars are playing beautifully now (I mean, seriously - the guy works on Jack White and Jimmy Page's guitars). Can't help but agree the one-star reviews are some sort of smear attempt. more

Good work, bit on the pricey side! 10/26/2009

Brought my guitar in for some work and was asked if they could ""try"" something (I was up for it). What they ended up doing was putting in some Mammoth Tusk! Actually made it a bit clearer! Pros: Great Work Cons: Pricey more

I don't think my guitar was tested. 9/10/2009

I brought my solid body, left handed electric guitar to Parsons on a Saturday afternoon for an overall fix up. My guitar needed a professional setup and also some fixes to the frets in order to alleviate some pronounced fret buzzing. Upon arrival to the shop I was told over and over by the shop employees that my guitar only needed a basic setup. That seemed fine to me but I stressed to them I wanted the fret buzzing fixed along with the basic setup. Money was not a factor in determining what I wanted fixed on my guitar as I was willing to pay way more then the 60$ they were going to charge me for the basic setup. I was told my guitar would be ready the following Thursday. When I arrived at the shop at 1pm on Thursday to pick up my guitar it had not even been touched in the 4+ days since it had been left there. I was asked if I could wait 30 minutes so the work could be done. I agreed to wait for my guitar. During the 30 minutes I couldn?t stop thinking??Is there really any way they can fix my fret buzzing in 30 minutes?? After waiting my guitar was ?done? and I was on my way. I will just say that the fret buzzing on my guitar is actually worse now then it was before I brought it to Parson?s shop. It is obvious very little work or care went into my guitar and I was simply just another 60$ in their pocket. I take some of the blame with my bad experience at Parson shop because I did not test my guitar before I left?but it is obvious they didn?t either. BUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! BUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! BUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! Pros: Next to guitar center. Cons: I could have set my guitar up better. more

THE place to go 9/7/2009

I exclusively use Randy's shop for my guitar-work needs. He has always done pristine work at a reasonable price. I too agree that the negative experience listed here must be some sort of smear. Evidently, there is someone looking to open a guitar repair shop in Seattle! I have been grounded in music in Seattle for about 18 years and nobody has EVER shared a bad experience. Nobody has EVER mentioned taking their guitar elsewhere either. My work done: Pickup installs, custom wiring, setups of Gretsch, Ricky's, and Airlines. There is a noticeable difference after Randy does his magic. Pros: Randy is THE guy to take your instruments to. Cons: No Cons more

Excellent Guitar Repair.... 11/7/2007

I've been taking my guitars to Parsons Guitar Shop for over 5 years now. As someone who is actively involved in the Seattle music scene, I can honestly say I've never heard a bad thing or the word scam about Parsons work. Sounds like a smear campaign.... Sad. Pros: Great reputation, honest work! Cons: In high demand more

I honestly believe that I was intentionally scammed 11/3/2007

I took a custom-made electric guitar, worth thousands of dollars, to Parsons Guitars for various work. When I realized that the guitar was even worse than when I took it in, I began to do my own research, learning about the techniques of master luthiers. I soon realized that nobody could do that poor of a job, and have it be an honest accident. One example: my guitar nut was broken, into two separate pieces, and was glued back together, and back into the guitar that way! Cons: All more
