This store offers some quite exciting promos and discounts on selected items. I love shopping here from time to time. more

I'll never spend a $ here again 6/19/2010

Why do clerks at a chain store act like they are rock stars? It's a joke. This location has a nice manager named Ken. But he has no control over the arrogant, inept employees' behavior. In the past 6 months I've bought an electric and acoustic guitar, amp and multi-effects pedal here and spent a LOT of $ in the process. Both the amp and guitar were lemons. I've chalked the electric guitar up as a project. The amp crapped out a little past the 30 day store limit. But I knew I was supposed to take it there and they'd send it back to Marshall. I have no problem with store policy. I do have a problem with nobody wanting to help after they have your $. Then the fat guy says they won't do anything. I was persistent until 1 employee said they would send it to Marshall. But I was there another 30 minutes waiting for someone to fill out one piece of paper. The rudeness is so irritating. There is a little shop called Pat's Desert music. Try going in there and see the difference in how you are treated before and after you decide to spend $. I recommend staying far away from this Guitar Center. They clearly don't want more business. What a gaggle of losers. Cons: attitude more

Like going into a car dealership....only worse 8/25/2009

First off, your experience normally starts with you walking in and being ""greeted"" by some young ditz covered with tats/piercings. Then you're either 1 or 2 things: 1. rushed by a person(s) trying to sell you something/anything in the shortest period humanly possible or 2. Ignored by same staff even when standing at the counter trying to get help. They sold us a used amp then AFTER WE PAID told us we couldn't pick it up for 30 days???? Nice, have stuff on the floor to sell before you'll let it leave the store. Also, upon looking at receipt (which is your pick up ticket for 30 days later), we noticed the Model & Serial #s were totally wrong and upon pointing said fact out we were dressed down by 2 employees about how ""it doesn't matter""...yeah right, like I'm going to trust their word that a month later we'll get the correct item or that they'll even still be working there. Long story short they finally pen-and-inked the info on one of our receipts. We also bought a guitar the same day and they didn't give us any paperwork (warranty card, box, manufacturer instructions etc), nor did they give us the wammy bar for it. Had to make another trip to the store to get the wammy. 30 days later I return to pick up amp and stand at the counter for 15 minutes before being acknowledged, then the guy that was ""helping"" me takes off, comes back (with another customer), and leaves me hanging standing there. Another 10 min goes by and the 2nd dude at the counter decides to help me. Then there's a big cluster about the serial number not matching the store's system (like I care/like it's my problem). This place is a chain store that's at best, staffed and managed by ""slacker"" type kids and is set up to operate like a car dealership. It's a good place to look at product but if you need personal attention from knowledgeable staff that will take the time to answer all questions you have/treat you like a valued customer you'll need to check out one of the smaller shops around the valley. Also, almost forgot to mention they never even had the basic courtesy of saying ""thank you"" for the purchases I made. Pros: You only feel like you need to take a shower after leaving Cons: Where do I start more

Average big guitar shop 1/10/2007

Standard big guitar shop, almost all business with the occasional true guitar player working. It may have just been the time of day I went, (Wednesday at noon) but the staff didn't seem very musically inclined. Very friendly and helpful, but sometimes it makes you feel more comfortable when the salepeople speak from personal experiences/feelings. Not bad overall... more
