good food, good beer, good times 8/31/2007

A relaxed and open atmosphere where the bartenders make you feel welcome and part of the crowd. The bar food is well prepared with a little bit of everything in the offering. Plenty of micro brew beer on tap with new additions being added all the time and a good web site to let one know what's being poured and any up coming special events. more

Grey Lodge Lifer 2/7/2006

This may be my fave bar in the region. Incredible selection w/o the Monk's crowd. Knowlegable servers and really unique bathrooms... A ""pregame"" classic! Total Score-95 Pros: Beer Selection Cons: Often Sausage Party more

Good beer no smoke 6/15/2005

I went to the Grey Lodge for the first time on Friday the Firkinteenth back in May and I loved it - even though it was crowded. Since then I have gone back several times since the beer selection is topnotch and the food is great. Much better tasting then the same type of offerings at other bars - plus a few things you aren't getting at other bars - like duck spring rolls. I like the downstairs (particularly the cool tile work in the bathroom) but since I am a non-smoker I prefer the upstairs. The service is great as are the prices. Only negative I have is that more of my friends don't want to travel from Center City to the Northeast to hang out here with me. Pros: Fantastic food, Great beer selection, Non-smoking 2nd floor more

Center City feel in the Northeast 5/6/2005

The Grey Lodge has been a great beer bar for several years now, but now with the addition of great food and a non-smoking upstairs this has become my favorite bar. Because of its location, the parking is free and it usually doesn't get overcrowded unless they have a special event like Friday the Firkinteenth going on (if you haven't been to this and you like beer make sure you make the next one - any Friday the 13th). Also, I know what will be on tap before I get there since they have a great website that is updated regularly - the tap selection usually changes each time something kicks, good bottle selection as well. Pros: Great food, Variety of beers, Non-smoking upstairs more

New and improved 2/14/2005

The Grey Lodge Pub was good before but now that it has a full kitchen turning out great food and a non-smoking upstairs it is an unbelievably great place to go and have good beer with friends. Pros: Great beer selection, Tasty food, Non-smoking more

  • In Short
It's rare that any place in Northeast Philly get this much attention. But lo and behold, thanks to owner Scoats' (that's what everyone calls him) early adoption of the Internet...
