After a massive bamboo removal project, we were faced with completely re-landscaping a bare yard. We called Greenscapes with lofty goals and a modest budget, and we were thrilled with the design they presented. When we were ready to proceed, Scott and his team finished the project in short time and on budget, and we were treated with the utmost care and professionalism. They did it all- stonework, grading, irrigation, and plant installation, and they were clearly experts at each job. The results are amazing, and we still have strangers stopping their cars to tell us how much they love the new yard. We could not be happier and highly recommend Greenscapes. more

We had Scott and his crew do quite a bit of work for us 2 years ago - a sprinkler system, regraded backyard, stone retaining wall with drains, new sod, and a large stone patio. While they were in the middle of the price range of bids that we received, we thought that they brought the best ideas and vision to the table. In the end, the charges were reasonable and we were very pleased with the results! Like any big job, there were a few small stumbles (to be fair, most of them not Greenscapes' fault), but Scott and the guys went out of their way to make sure that we were happy - including fixing a broken water supply line that I thought was a sprinkler pipe, months after the fact and over a holiday weekend.\r \r We can't say enough nice things about Greenscapes' work, and we have already hired them again to do tree work last fall. more

Professional Landscaping, Ideas and Courtesy at its Finest 1/26/2012

I contacted GreenScapes about a last minute project to redo all of the landscape in my front yard and bid on a few other items that needed attention as well. Their Project Manager, Scott, arrived on time, a definite good way to start a new project, and carried a genuine sense of professionalism in appearance, transportation, landscape knowledge and most importantly to me, in communication. He listened to everything I had to say, offered constructive advice and ideas as necessary, and provided me with exactly what I was looking for based on my budget and the idea I had in mind for the final product. The bid that was received was clear and concise and the alternatives were listed as I asked. There was no up selling during any of our communication - he simply priced and installed what I asked for during our initial discussion. My budget and scope was meager compared to the high end work I know that they do, however I in no way felt I received a reduced level of service or performance because of it. I am giving these guys a top notch recommendation in every facet of the job from the initial call to the final acceptance. more

Great landscaper! 8/31/2011

I have used Greenscapes on several projects on my home and have found them to be dependable, cost effective and pleasant to work with. They are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. One project took longer than expected but was due to the fact that they are a reputable company, not a guy with a mower in the back of his truck, and follow the rules concerning tree trimming and removal. I would and have recommended them to my neighbors.\r more

Knowledgeable Staff and Beautiful Work! 6/3/2011

We had a great experience with Greenscapes and will use them again - no doubt. They were very knowledgeable about local plants and were conscious about water usage - which was a big concern of mine. They were very professional and were available for questions and easy to reach - something we are not accustomed to when dealing with contractors. All in all - we are very happy with the end result and the experience we had with this company. more

I do not recommend doing business with this company 7/16/2010

Initially, Brad seemed like a type of guy that would follow through and get things done correctly, however after one month of agreeing to a bid price (I wanted to get an irrigation system installed, a few trees (4) and a decomposed granite pathway with a boarder/edging installed (approximately 85 ft). It was kind of humorous (in a bad way) when I received the initial bids. I had requested additional work, but upon receiving the bids, I decided to narrow it down to the items I have mentioned above. Maegan sent out the first bid (note this is for the EXACT same work, I still have the documents to prove it) for around $8200 dollars...all the bid said was installation of irrigation system to plan, (4) trees etc...it was super generic...no details whatsoever...so I requested that they break it down line by line and let me know what each part of the project costs so I could customize it around my budget...I get another generic bid (this time from Brad) for the EXACT same generic descriptions...only this time it was over $10,000 dollars!!! I laughed....now why was I so stupid to continue to go with them? Because when I eliminated a few items and stuck with what I wanted to get done (the trees and the granite path and the irrigation system for the full yard) it came to around $6600 which wasn't all that unreasonable and Brad promised they'd get it done...but they didn't like to break things down (itemize them). Then, I waited another month for them to get approval through the local water district (ours is strict, and requires plan layout and survey etc) so I understood it may take a week...after almost 3 weeks...I called the water district myself to see what the holdup was...it was July 9th...the last submission by Greenscapes (Brad) was June 21st!!! They said it shouldn't take this long...and they had never dealt with Greenscapes before so that might be part of the problem...I should have turned and ran at this point, but you know how it goes...you invest this much time with someone, and you want to see it through...miraculously when I called back to Greenscapes? Maegan said they had ""just"" resubmitted the plans...so finally, yesterday (another week later) they just got the permit...they send me the contract...and I laughed out loud! There was NO details whatsoever in it aside from a check box (maybe it had an x :) ) that said it was for an irrigation system install and they wanted 50% down...um...what about the details of the system? Amount of sprinkler heads, type (listed in the contract like a good business would do) hose, PVC etc...Um what about my trees? The decomposed granite? I see the total amount there? But no other detail. So I email back (this time with frustration for obvious reasons) requesting detail or I will go with someone else (because at this point I have serious doubts about this company doing quality work...or following up on anything that might go wrong with the installation...warranty anyone? I doubt it!!) Incompetent...no, not too strong a word here. Pros: none in this case... Cons: Read the details below...poor communication...incompetence more

Excellent work 5/14/2010

We have owned several homes and typically have landscape plans drawn up as needed to enhance our outdoor space. Brad at Greenscapes was able to transform our outdoor area beyond what we had planned. He and his team had ideas and suggested adjustments that really made a difference. Totally satisfied with the result, his work team and attention to detail! Pros: Did what they said they would do and on time Cons: How can you argue with great service more

This guy knows nothing about plants!!! He needs to go back to designing concrete bridges! 10/11/2008

Brad (the ""landscaper"") is a civil engineer, he does not know much about plants. He has knowledge about a few very commonly plated items but you can learn that at the nursery. He has no idea about how to plant items (amending the soil, mulch, etc)\r \r He shows up on time for a few visits and then you may never see him again especially once he has your money or if you have a problem. \r \r I know more about plants than he does, I questioned him about many of his choices and he assured me that they would work and when they didn't he tried to push the blame back on me and refused to work with me at all to improve the situation, he got quite defensive and nasty over email. He was very unprofessional. \r \r Buyers beware!!!! Pros: work was done fast Cons: expensive, clueless, unprofessional more
