I have been going to the Greenhouse Cafe for about 5 years. Have eaten in the Cafe next door as well. The menu has a lot to offer.
The waitstaff is slow and and never follows up. The waitresses all look like they just rolled out of bed with no shower. They don't understand the menu or have drink knowledge. One girl studied an LSAT book and didn't even know what beers were on draft! Obviously there is no management since the staff is constantly on their cell phones or smoking.
Wednesdays the karaoke is loud and the regular wednesday bartender left, so the service at the bar is horrible. The weekends are hit or miss, usually loud. Sunday brunch is good, Martin McQuade is a regular and he makes the whole experience.
Valet is good considering the difficulties parking around there. Ask for Peter, he's very sweet and professional. The dark haired female bartender always welcomes us when we come in and makes us welcome as well as the adorable little hostess who always seems to sit us promptly. The drinks are always good but pricey.
The atmosphere is chaotic, with loud music at times, lost waitresses and an air of not caring.
The cafe next door is younger, has a lighert menu. The staff looks a bit cleaner. They make mistakes a lot but are apologetic and try to fix it.
They could use some management and a menu upgrade. Plus a reality check on drink prices, personal hygiene and friendliness.
