Great Mall of the Bay Area

even though my workplace closed down last November 2005, Great Mall is still my 2nd home especially when my boyfriend (Great Mall Security Officer) is still working there. Everyone is friendly. Though you have to avoid some stores there too because their associates are drama queens. But everything's cool. Just don't try to flirt with the security guards coz they're all in a relationship including mine & they're picky & so complicated...they're a bunch of drama kings & queens jsyk... more

I used to work at the mall, so maybe I am a bit biased, but I think this is a great place to shop. Not only can you find bargains left and right, but it is also a fun place just to hang out and take a stroll. The remodeling they have done in recent years has transformed it into a more classy locale, instead of being known as a cheap outlet mall, ala Gilroy or Vacaville. The food court seems to change quite often, as less than half the restaurants there now were around when I worked there a few years back, but the selection is decent. Also, most stores seem to be occupied, so that is a good sign that the shops are doing healthy business. Furthermore, although there are many younger people here, most are not punks or gangsters like you would find at other malls, such as Eastridge, Bayfair, or Hilltop. Obviously, much of this can be attributed to the city, since Milpitas is generally known to be a safe, upper middle class town. Lastly, I'm still bitter over D&B buying out Namco's contract to be the exclusive arcade at the mall though. Namco WonderPark >>> Dave and Buster's! more

One of the finer theaters I have visited. The prices for the movies are comparably more expensive than other theaters, but the furnishing of the theater is awesome and well maintained. Workers there are always smiling and happy to answer any questions you may have. The candy is also a bit expensive. more

At the Great Mall, especially on the weekends, and even during the weekdays, you will find all the kids that go to junior high and high school in Milpitas and the surrounding areas (or so it seems). They're everywhere! It's not a bad mall, it has a variety of outlet stores if you're into that. Sometimes you can find a good deal, sometimes it's just as high priced as a regular mall. But the food court is great. They have a variety of options there. They also have some regular restaurants on the premises like Outback Steakhouse and Coconut Grove (a Malaysian restaurant which i really like). The mall also has Century Theatres and a glow in the dark mini golf course. more

My family used to go to Great Mall all the time, especially since they used to have a game arcade called Namco which is great for little kids. But Namco closed down ans some Chinese oriented store moved in. The Mall is HUGE! But there are so many people there! The stores are just regular, everything you would expect to find in a mall (GAP, nordstrom etc.) There is a food court with LOTS of selections. more

One of the biggest malls in the bay area, The great Mall of the bay area represents some of the best shopping time of all time featuring shops for clothes, jewellery, Furniture, Shoes and utensils . Has food court boasting restauarants from India, China, Mexico, Meditaranean, italian among other places. Has kids playstations as well. Features some of the biggest clothing giants like GAP, Nike, reebok among others. A complete mall for all your needs. more

I have lived in Milpitas nearly half my life, and I have probably attended Great Mall hundreds of times now. The Great Mall has a wide variety of stores, whether your looking for clothing, electronics, or a place to eat. The Great Mall also has a movie theater at one end of the mall if your interested in watching a movie. This mall can fill nearly all your needs. It is a great place to just hang out or to do some shopping. Also if that doesn't suit you, the Great Mall is also an excellent place to work and meet new people. more
