Great Food, Service, & Atmosphere 10/7/2006

Upon walking in, you feel like part of a sm. Greek village. Staff is warm and very attentive. Pros: Authentic cuisine & music just adds to the experience Cons: Tight quarters more

REMARKABLE 7/9/2006

It's rare to find a gem such as this one where the food was great 15 years ago and it's still great today! We went last night and ordered the combination plate and the bleu greek salad. The Spring Lamb was succulent and flavorful, the pasticio and moussaka perfect and delicious. The had tasty strips of moist grilled chicken breast, lots of feta, avocado, and a vinagrette that my companion enjoyed despite a disdain for both vinegar and lemon (it's two main ingredients). Servings were generous. Staff was friendly. Live music and dancing were a nice bonus. We were seated timely. Disappointed by Joe's in Venice and Melisse in Santa Monica, I feel that LA cuisine is not the greatest (or at least not consistent), but I loved this place as much last night as I did 15 years ago! GO GO GO! more

Medi-heaven 4/19/2006

The first time I set foot in this restaurant, I felt like I was home. From the staff to the proprietor, this restaurant offers an experience to cherish. The food is excellent and the ambience brings a smile to the face. I recommend The Great Greek to anyone who is thinking about Greek. Dance with the waiters.......you'll love it! Pros: Food, Price, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Amazing Food 4/6/2006

The food was absolutely delicious - I could live off of their hummus! The ambiance was very authentic and the wait staff was polite. Try their pita bread that is flown in fresh from Chicago! The live music was also a plus! Pros: Food quality, Ambiance, Music Cons: Parking more

Pretty good greek food 3/12/2006

Very good: dolmas , taramosalata, spanakopita, oven roasted lamb with side of potatoes (skip orzo and veggies and get only potatoes for the side), cheesecake (ask for no whipped cream or jam) and the Galaktobouriko desert. Nothing special, but very decent: pita, lemon soup, rack of lamb (little burned), salmon. Bad: rice pudding (cold and not tasty). Nice, homey atmosphere. Great live music. Pros: Food, Atmosphere more

Oopah!! Great food & prices at Great Greek! 3/5/2006

My favorite Greek restaurant in the LA area -- pita bread flown in from Chicago and creamy fresh hummus a must as a starter. The flaming saganaki cheese is also a good show. Consistently friendly service and delicious food. The lemon soup is good for what ails you. We also love their gyros sandwich. Pros: delicious food, warm friendly service, moderately priced more

We held our Christmas Luncheon here 6/25/2005

Last December we held a Sunday Xmas luncheon here. Great value. Delicious cuisine. Fun Greek dancing throughout the restaurant. The service and management could not have been more accommodating! We had our best party ever. I highly recommend that you try the Great Greek for 2 or 30. And order the Greek combo lunch or dinner it is delicious and plentiful. Pros: service, cuisine, management Cons: ??????????????? more

Great service and good value 1/20/2005

Dining and a show... 7/2/2003

This loud, compact restaurant will amaze you w/ their culinary and performance talents. For food, the vegetarian platter gives the average diner a large sampling of their best non-meat fares. For those of you that do enjoy meat, I recommend the lamb. In between your excellent food and service, the staff showcases their skills at traditional greek dance. Since this place is popular, make a reservation if you want prompt seating (which can still be a 5 to 10 min. wait). Parking is also nill to none, so I recommend the valet offered in front of the restaurant. Pros: Great Food, Entertaining Cons: Valet, Reservations Needed more

Greatest of Greeks! 1/2/2003

I was taken here for my birthday and had visited The Great Greek twice before. The service was impeccable and the food nothing short of fantastic. They have the best pita in town, folks...and that's just the start of an unforgettably delightful and delicious dining experience. What are you waiting for? Go! Tonight...right now...go! You'll be glad you did. Pros: Excellent Service, Freshest Food, Delicious Cuisine more

A Good Time 5/19/2002

I've been here three times and each time I had great food and really good service. Pros: great food Cons: small, parking more
