Big changes needed for dinner 4/25/2011

Very disappointed with the quality of the dinner. I had a chicken breast and my wife had salmon. This is the worst dinner we can remember having at any restaurant. The chicken was overdone and inedible. The salmon was also overdone and tasted like sawdust. The server explained that the dinner menu was new and they didn't have a lot of experience with dinners. I suggest they make drastic changes because the dinners are expensive especially considering the quality. We will not be repeat customers. more

All around excellent experience 1/28/2009

I had a burger and it was excellent. I'm talking In-'n-Out (for all you Californians) tasty! I didn't see a dessert that I was craving (hot fudge sundae) on the menu and asked if that was a possibility. The owner was nearby and said ""No problem"". The sundae was beyond good so I had to ask and of course, it was Godiva chocolate. Excellent service, excellent food....a little hard to find, but worth the effort. more

A great start to the day! 1/17/2009

I personally have been coming to GB for years and it keeps getting better every time! The new gluten free menu has been a long waited item (my wife now gets up to go with me before work). The staff is great and the atmosphere is amazing! If you haven't tried it i would highly recommend you go today for breakfast or lunch! more

Best Restaurant in South Tech Center 12/16/2008

I have been going to Great Beginins for the past 8 years. This has to be the number one spot for breakfast and lunch meetings in the south Denver Tech Center area. The new staff provides exceptional & professional service which makes this place the best for business meetings....I will be taking the majority of my clients there in the future. Can't beat the French Toast and Omlets! Pros: Food, wait staff, meeting room Cons: Not visible more

New owners! 5/10/2008

We have been to this restaurant with friends twice now. Both times the food was excellent and the service, although not fast, was pleasant. The main reason I'm writing is to let those who had previous negative experiences with the past owner know that there is a new owner! Actually, friends of our purchased the restaurant recently (since any of the negative posts on this site). He was a manager of several well known restaurants in the metro area before purchasing Great Beginnings (about Jan. of 2008). Although I haven't had the opportunity to dine there since he's taken over, knowing them personally, I can guarantee that the negative issues are resolved! more

Avoid this Manager 10/31/2007

Very disappointed, Third visit to this Restaurant over the last year, food is average at best, the potatoes are horrible. Took almost 30 minutes to get our food and the Restaurant was only half full. The worst part of the visit was having to see the Female manager yelling at one of the Waiters for all to see. On the prior visits I have seen this Manager walking around with an angry look on her face, treating her customers very rude. If she is having a bad day I understand but don't take it out on your customers. Will not return to this Restaurant, I will stay going the The Pancake House even though they are so busy I have to wait out side. more

Comfortable, Friendly Atmosphere and Good Food! 9/30/2007

I don't agree at all with some of the negative reviews of this restaurant. I have been to this restaurant a number of times over the last several years -- weekdays and weekends and for breakfast as well as dinner -- and I have always been more than satisfied with the food and the friendly, efficient service. This has also been a great place to meet with friends or just enjoy a leisurely meal with my husband, and I never feel like we are being rushed to leave. I agree that the food isn't cheap, but the quality and portion sizes are good and I always feel like I got my money's worth. Overall, it is a pleasant place with a comfortable, neighborhood atmosphere and good food. Pros: Good coffee and relaxed atmosphere Cons: Not enough low cost breakfast options more

Good Food, Horrible Owner 8/12/2007

Inconsistent Food and Service 1/1/2007

We have eaten breakfast here over a dozen times in the past 2 years. The food and the service are inconsistent - it varies from great to poor. I agree with the bacon comment of a previous reviewer as well as the inattentive staff comment by another reviewer. They used to have the best bacon and French toast. We had not been back in 6 mos and went there recently (mid Dec.) on a Sunday morning. The French toast was barely coated with egg (it used to be excellent) the bacon was incinerated and forget asking for any changes to the menu (for example substituting tomatoes for potatoes - It simply can't be done). There are too many excellent restaurants in south Denver to frequent one that has inconsistent food, poor customer service and a bad attitude. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. The staff and management are in serious need of rediscovering that the customer pays their wages and that attentive service constitutes a large part of one's dining experience. Pros: Inconsistent - You Might Get Lucky Cons: Inconsistent - You Might Not more

I love it 8/31/2006

My family are regulars at this fantastic resturaunt. Not only is the food great but the waiters/waitreses are friendly and eager to help. The owner is often at the restaraunt and will often come by to make sure you are enjoying your expierience. The only thing they would need to make there restaraunt perfect would be cinnamon rolls. I highly recomend this fabulous breakfast place for meetings, groups, or just a family breakfast more

Good Food, Bad Service 7/29/2006

This is a great place to come to if you like loud teenagers as your servers. Almost the entire staff consists of teenagers all of which speak loud enough that i could here them talking across the room to each other and other customers. I mean its good to speak up, but i mean honestly do I need to know which server is dating another? The servers also have a tendency to gather around the host table and when 7 teenagers are gathered together and talking, they tend to be very loud, and forget about their tables. The food on the other hand is very good. I recommend the eggs benedict. The drinks are good too, just dont drink up too fast, because your server will not be back to refill your glass for a while. The only other part of the restaurant that bothered me was the fact that the noise from the kitchen was so loud that i could hear it from a table across the room. If you would like to try this restaurant I suggest that you order it To Go, because the food is the only thing this restaurant has going for it! Pros: Food Cons: Service and noise more

when it's good it's great but never cheap 7/19/2006

Great Bacon Great Bread Absolutely the most amazing french toast. Bacon cooked perfect half of the time, other times they turn it into pork rinds. They could use some instruction from the original pancake house on how to cook an omelet. the scrambled eggs are good. But this is one expensive breakfast. You don't mind paying when everything is good because it is very good. But, they lack consistency. more

Excellent breakfast burrito's 1/13/2006

This is a very family friendly, excellent place to eat breakfast. The restaurant is absolutely clean and the service (comprising mostly of teenagers) are top-notch and extra friendly. Unlike a lot of restaurants the servers have a smile on their faces and genuinely seem to want to help. The breakfast burrito is huge and the green chili yummy!!! We have never had a bad experience while dining here. I have never had lunch there but based on the breakfast entrees I'm sure it is delicious. I highly recommend it and have seen some Bronco's players in there before as well. Enjoy!!! Pros: great food, great service, low wait time more
