Grand Grooming

When a bargain is not a bargain: Grand Groomers. \r Before the last trip, I had three good experiences at Grand Groomers, but the 4th time was a disaster. I arrived 30 min before closing time and one of my three miniature poodles was still being groomed. I want in the back room to pick up the two dogs that were finished. What I discover in the holding room was disturbing. Squalid and filthy conditions. I realize that it’s a dog groomers not a hospital, but this was unacceptable.\r They rushed through the trimming of my last dog. I promptly paid and we left. The employees shooed us out the door in an abrupt fashion. When I got home the dogs were behaving erratically and shivering uncontrollably. I gave all three dogs a close inspection and discovered that they had all been cut and were bleeding. One dog on an ear, a second on it’s underbelly and the third had three cuts on its leg. Apperantly it is more important to get the dogs out the door by closing time then do safe quality work. One dog required a trip to the vet and a bedspread was ruined because of blood stains. Please do your dog a favor- use another groomer! This place was abusive towards my dogs. \r more

I have a large, cat that would bite anyone trying to brush him meaning every time he needed to be groomed, he had to be sedated. A friend of mine suggested Grand Grooming seven years ago, and I have been happy ever since. I followed the owners suggestion of not sedating him. When I came to pick him up from that appointment, I found my cat PURRING while being brushed...I could hardly believe it was my cat! You can't beat the price, my cat can be groomed without being sedated and he comes out BEAUTIFUL. more

I wish I could give them no stars. Let me just start by saying that I am a pretty easy going guy. I got there at 7AM thinking that is when they opened. Well, they open at 7:30. Okay, my fault, so I waited. Another car arrived at about 7:15 and they tried twice to get in front of me in line. Thankfully they had a larger dog to deal with and as soon as I saw his car door open, I grabbed my Yorkie mix and headed for the front door, even though Grand Grooming wasn't officially open yet. Inside I found a guy vacuuming up from the day before. There was pet fur / hair everywhere. It was disgusting. Finally after 5 minutes he shut the vacuum off and started to take down my information. I should point out that when I saw this same guy walking outside, I though he was homeless. He was dressed like a bum and very unkempt. He then said ""Do you have a walyet for him"". He then took a phone call and I started thinking to my self what is a 'Walyet""?. After he got off the phone, I asked him to repeat himself. He then then repeated the same thing. I said...""Are you asking if he had a ""Walk Yet"", he replied yes. I said yes, he went before we left the house. He said with a real jerk attitude ""All dogs have to be walked before they come in here"". Now my dog is a puppy and doesn't go on command and uses a Potty Patch at home. All he does outside is chase leaves and pickup rocks. I was concerned that if I went outside to watch my dog screw around for 20 minutes that now the guy with the big dog behind me was going to now be in front of me. So I said, ""Well first I need to know if I'm going to be able to pick him up by 10AM, because I have plans for later that morning / afternoon"". He said, ""Well what do you want done to him"". I said, ""Just a haircut"". He said, ""What kind of a cut?"". I said, ""Whatever you normally do is fine"". He said, in a cocky manner, ""Its up to you"". I said, ""I don't want a designer cut or anything. Just a basic cut."" Being a new dog owner, I have no idea what he was asking me. He just kept up with his cocky attitude, making me feel like I'm the idiot. Finally I said, ""You know what, this isn't worth it....I'm getting a major attitude from you. I'll be sure to let my friend know that I've now tried to come to you twice to get my dog groomed and you just lost a customer"". In a nutshell, I found Grand Grooming to very unprofessional, filthy, not at all nice and a GRAND disappointment. It was plain to see that the guy I dealt with didn't want to be there and didn't care if I was a customer or not. He said as I left, ""That's fine...okay...fine."" more

The owners are very personable and do a fine job. I have both large and small breed dogs, some longer and some shorter, they all come home looking great. This doggie saloon is not fancy, but my dogs don't care.... I think that is how they are able to offer such very affordable prices. Thank you Grand Grooming! more

This is a great grooming salon. Our Jack Russell Terrier looked fantastic after his first grooming here, and the price was just unbeatable! We've paid lots more to have him groomed at PetSmart and he never looked this good! My only complaint is that even though we live just down the street and had just walked our dog right before bringing him over, they insisted we walk him again on a lot adjacent to the building. Kind of annoying. But otherwise it was a great experience! Pros: Great price Cons: They insist you walk your dog on their property more

I had previously been using another groomer for my 1-1/2 yr old pomeranian and after speaking with some friends, took their recomendation to try Grand Grooming! I am so glad I did. They were friendly, had a sense of humor, and treated my little darling like she belonged there (holding her, talking to her, etc.). Additionally, it is the best she has ever looked after a groom and she was done quickly - I didn't have to leave her there all day! They even took her out to go potty whereas most groomers just put them into a cage. At this time I give them a four star rating! Lori more
