Consider your guests 5/9/2004

The Grand Concourse is a lovely restaurant. However, I believe the restaurant's popularity is based more on its history as a landmark than on quality of food or service. If you plan to treat someone to a special buffet e.g. mother's day, Sunday, etc... seriously consider your elderly family members or friends because this place is definitely NOT suitable for those who have trouble walking. Buffet food is spread around through different areas of the restaurant, and patrons must strategically squirm through crowds of people to finally retrieve a cool platter of unremarkable food. Not worth the wait. Your family will not leave this restaurant feeling special or pampered. Pros: Lovely atmosphere, History (building), view Cons: , Poor Communication, Chaos more

B-day dinner for my wife 2/17/2004

I took my wife here for her birthday and it was beutiful. Our table was window side, the view was stunning. I am a lead cook for a hotel restuarant and the I was really impressed with the service. Marsha was our waitres and she knew everything that that we had asked. Pros: ambience, service, food selection Cons: , bones in my fish more

Excellent brunch 9/2/2003

I stumbled across this place by accident, and it is the best brunch I've ever had in my life, period. The atmosphere is stunning - they just don't make buildings like this anymore, and the opportunity to see the stained glass windows, carved wooden benches and echoes of the railroad past are alone worth the trip. The brunch spread is enormous, covering just about every type of food you would want, only in vast quantities. They've even got an automatic donut machine, and a special food station set up for kids. Don't miss this one! Pros: excellent food, great atmosphere, kid friendly Cons: crowded, busy, a pinch overpriced more

Romantic Anniversary Dinner 1/15/2003

What a wonderful way to enjoy a dinner for two, my husband made reservations and asked for intimate seating. The atmosphere was excellent very dim, comfortable seating, and no rush with our meal. The food was amazing (exspecially the Martha's Vineyard Salad, and Banana Creme Bruela). We have gone back several times since. If you do plan on having several courses as a dinner with vino do not forget your cash. We spend close to $120.00 for the two of us when we go, but well worth it. more

BEST BRUNCH IN THE CITY 6/8/2002

Scaled down a lot since previous years, but the price is still high. The food is still great quality though, good service, and a great view. The entertainment is nice as well. Ambience can't be beat. But, for the price they should really go back to the elaborate brunch layout of years' past. Despite this, it is still the best place around town for brunch. Pros: awesome ambience, tasty food, great celebration pla Cons: expensive, less for the money, bad drinks more
