“Great Memories -Grand Beach, Old Orchard Beach, Maine 9/14/2010

We were able to get 4 rooms on short notice - someone must have cancelled. We had a great time. we arrived early on a Sat in July 9:45 A.M. - rooms were ready so they allowed us to check in. There were 11 people in our party. 2 grandmas, 2 families and 4 kids. The service was excellent. Great place for breakfast. Restaurant small but OH the food!!! If you are looking for a Maine Old Orchard Beach vacation - a great place. If you're looking for the Ritz - go somewhere else. My family has been going to Old Orchard Beach for about 30 years and this was one of the most uncomplicated fun vacations. We had a great time. I can't say .enough good things about Grand Beach.\r more

Very Friendly 9/13/2010

I normally come to Old Orchard Beach in the summer time because thats when all the action happens. I was visiting my Mother-in-Law in October and decided to stay at one of the hotels that was still open. We came across the grand beach inn which i learned is open year round and do their majority of renting on a weekly basis. The price we paid was 59 dollars for the night I also asked about other rates and they mentioned they have weekly rates for 150 per week. The room was nice and clean I wish I would have planned to stay longer because one week at this rate with everything included is a steal! The entire stay was a breeze Check In was very simple and quick. The desk girl was very charming and the other staff I came across were also friendly. It was great environment to be in even though it was off season. I can't wait to come back next year more

Great service, great value 9/12/2010

I took a hockey team to play in the Lobsterfest in Portland, ME. I could have stayed in Portland but wanted a place where the kids and parents could have more fun. We opted to stay at Old Orchard Beach. I checked all the motels on the strip and the Grand Beach Inn was simply the best. Sara who handles groups was simply amazing. She got us great rates and even did welcome baskets for the kids (no easy task for a dozen 11 & 12 year olds). The boys loved them. We brought in ten familes and they had no problem with more than 20 kids many under 12. We had rooms with full kitchens (which help keep the food cost down) and a couple of us with bigger families took the larger suites (two rooms and a kitchen with a queen pull out couch, and queen beds). It was very comfortable and very roomy. I had 2 teenage daughters and my niece along with my wife and my son in the room and it worked great. The Grand View is at the opposite end of the Pier which was a good thing for us as the beach (right across the street ) was quieter and nicer. The Pier (seaside boardwalk with rides and shops) was a mile away ( a good walk) but with the trolley that runs hourly I heard no complaints. You are never sure when you deal with a non chain motels. I did see some questionable reviews and so I talked with Sara and even did a ride up before to be sure our team would be welcomed. Sara and her staff was amazing. They made sure we were together and with its own little resturant on property it made last minute breakfasts and quick meals easy for a team on the go. If you are looking for a clean, team friendly place with great rates and an even better staff the Grand Beach Inn is my pick. more

Stay due to Power outage. Excellent 9/7/2010

Lost power in the big storm; got a room in Old Orchard. I was very pleasantly surprised. They had a very accomodating and friendly office staff which I was not expecting in the winter. The room I got was very large with a full kitchen and a balcony. They have free high wireless which I didn't expect. The rate was only 69 and it had a on e of the new Kurik coffe makers. I would definintely stay here again. The beach was astonishingly beautiful with huge surf the next morning. We live near by and don't take advantage of this great area so close to town. They send me to JJs Restaurant which was also open in downtown OOB; although it seems like a bar, the food was very good. \r more

I look forward to future stays here 8/26/2010

My wife and I recently visited old orchard beach, and our stay at the grand beach inn was a great experience. The grounds are kept exceptionally clean, and the sunset views of the marsh are incredible. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food at the cafe was great. The location allowed us to get the seclusion we needed, while still remaining a short walk from the pier and downtown old orchard. I look forward to future stays here. more

NEVER AGAIN 7/27/2002

We recently stayed at the GRAND BEACH INN in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I should have known when the 2 couples ahead of me in the office upon arriving were not happy at all with the conditions. The rooms were far from being as advertised on the web site. They were in very poor condition, dirty, beds were terrible, not even flat they were on a slant. When I booked, I was told that I would be directly on the beach, which was why I booked there as we had a grandaughter with us and I thought that would be a treat for her on the ocean. Well, guess what , ocean was across the street, you had a public walkway leading to the ocean. Very misrepresented. Management did not want to hear anything about this and was very rude. We would not recommend this place to anyone. Pros: pool was nicely kept Cons: unkept rooms, misrepresentation, rude desk people more
