The best ice cream in the country guaranteed! 6/23/2008

I have had ice cream hundreds of times all over the country and nothing comes close to beating Graeter's. I would pay someone $20 for a cone that is better. All of their 20 flavors are delicious, but my favorite is the Buckeye Blitz. I am looking at their prices online here in Arizona (where I now live, I lived in Dublin, OH for 8 years) and see that it is $4.60 for a double scoop cone. I would honestly pay $12 for that same cone here in Arizona if I could get it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Pros: Greatest ice cream in the world and I'm not even being biased! Cons: Some may say it's a little expensive, but trust me it is well worth it! more

Why don't other ice cream shops have chocolate chips this soft? 2/15/2008

The ice cream is good, but so is the ice cream at a lot of places. The reason I'll sometimes choose Graeter's over other, smaller ice cream shops is the chocolate ""chips"": they aren't too hard and brittle to get the chocolate taste. I don't know if it's a higher cocoa butter content or what, but they chocolate is much better in texture than what I normally find in a frozen dish. Yum. Pros: Chocolate Pieces Cons: Pricey! more

GET THE BUCKEYE SUNDAE!!! Also, try the rasberry chocolate cake. Graeters is the best ice cream in the country, I'm down here and I got ice cream at Ghirardelli and it STILL does not compare to Graeter's Ice Cream. more

I love Graeters. It's located in my town right near my house so it's pretty local. In the ice cream, you can find HUGE chunks of delectable Graeters chocolate. The ice cream is perfect! Pros: Delicious, Good Service, Local Cons: Can be costly more

Graeters, is beyond GREAT 1/26/2004

I accidentaly found this ice cream shop, and now I tell everyone to go there, I have driven 3 hours just to get the icecream there, and I have everyone I know that is going to Columbus to bring me back some. This ice cream is the best and the service is superb at the Bethel Road, Easton and Frantz Road locations. My husband LOVES the Rasberry chocolate chip and the turtle sundaes are great - with the big chunks of heath toffee chips and chocolate. Yes- the two scoop sundaes are 6.00 - but this is the real deal. If a person wants an old fashion ice cream palor experience with REAL ice cream than this is the place. Everyone I know Loves Graeters ! more

Graeter's Rocks 7/10/2003

There are Graeters locations in three of the major cities in Ohio. There are about five locations in Columbus, a couple in Cincy, including the one in Hyde Park which is the original and one was recently built in Kettering, a suburb of Dayton. It is the best ice cream I've ever had. I recommend the coconut ice cream in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. You should also try the Buckeye. It is peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream covered in hot fudge topped off with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles! I suggest you get it in a waffle bowl which makes it the much better. more

Overrated 1/29/2003

I don't understand Columbus's love affair with Graeter's. Of all the smaller ""local"" chains in town Graeter's is the worst. They a very expensive comparatively to other similar options in town and they have a very limited selection. Give me Knight's, Bruester's, or Ritter's anyday over Graeter's. How can it be rated best in Columbus when we now have a Handel's (Rated in the top ten in the US)? Wake up Columbus, and give your other area merchants a chance. You'll be glad you did. I definately agree with several of the other reviews that say Greaters is not all it is cracked up to be. I think the ice cream is waxy and the customer service is terrible. I can't believe they let kids run their stores all the time with no adult managers even on the property. Product - OK Atmosphere - OK Service - Terrible I drive past Greaters several times per week and go to Ritter's Frozen Custard on Sawmill Road. Ritter's is great, but they need to build more locations around town so people will realize just how bad Greaters really is. Cons: service, product, people more

Graeter's has outstanding ice cream, everything is truly super yummy. But also important the staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. I'll risk sounding corny and say you go there knowing you can get wonderful rich creamy Raspberry Chocolate Chunk ice cream (my favorite) and service with a smile. Getting too big 8/10/2002

Graeters certainly offers some good ice cream, but its success has taken something away from the small parlor atmosphere. It's always busy and crowded, sometimes not too clean, and not very personal. The hectic pace means employees sometimes don't notice pieces of ice that fall into the ice cream and wind up in your dessert. Pros: God flavors more

Chunks, not chips 8/8/2002

My sister and I have always been a battle for the best ice cream place. She lives in NW Massachusetts and finally got to sample Graeters! After the moment of truth, she agreed! Graters has to be the richest, smoothest, creamiest, and best tasting ice cream ever. The coconut chip and black raspberry chip are enough to think you have died and are tasting ice cream made in heaven. The ice cream is consistently out of this world. I'm glad there are so many more of them in Columbus now than even 2 years ago! more
