Ok- So i had a job interview there and that place is a NIGHTMARE. I wouldnt want my worst enemy to even apply to live there. I applied for a cooks position, and I was MORTIFIED when i saw the kitchen. I work for the county, so I know all about how the kitchen should be kept, and having sticky fly traps hanging from the ceiling is not something I would consider sanitary, not by ANY means. The day I went there they had hot dogs for lunch.....I got there around 4 or so....and the hot dogs were still sitting on the counter in a bowl. Ok, now....I'm no expert, but I do have COMMON SENSE....and hot dogs sitting on the counter for hours isnt something I would consider sanitary. Not to mention, the lady who interviewed me had cooked dinner I'd say 5 hours too early....seeing as, dinner ( a big ham) was already cooked, sitting on the stove top...UNCOVERED, and had flies all over it. They were concerned because I havnt re-newed my sanitation certificate and told me I need to re-take a class to get certified in servesafe again. UM HELLO....WORRY ABOUT YOUR STAFF, WORRY ABOUT YOUR COOK WHO USED TO BE THE BAR TENDER BEFORE THEY TURNED THAT PLACE INTO A NURSING HOME. I cant even BEGIN to imagine how much of the food in the fridge was rotten. The lady who interviewed me was soo happy to show me her kitchen, little did she know I know what to expect when walking into facilities such as that one. I was standing about 10 ft away from the fridge when she opened it, and honestly....3/4 of the things I saw in there NEEDED to be thrown out immediately. There is NOTHING sanitary about that kitchen. The staff there did not look very professional. And they definitely did not hire the brightest bulbs in the pack either. I had gotten there early for my interview, and as I was waiting for the lady who interviewed me to finish up with her conversation (which lasted 15 mins AFTER i got there) I had a chance to look around and observe some things. For one, an IDIOT could work there. Because OBVIOUSLY the person running it is one herself. And for two, someone who has a room by the kitchen was crying for the nurse. I said ""Um, someone is calling for you...you need to go see what they need."" and the nurse said ""no....its ok, they cry alot because they want their channel changed"". OK, first off....I HAVE NEVER HEARD SOMEONE CRY LIKE THAT OVER A CHANNEL NEEDING TO BE CHANGED.MAYBE IF YOU WOULD GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND STOP TEXTING AND BE THE NURSE THAT YOU ARE PAID TO BE----YOU WOULD SEE WHAT IS WRONG. People dont just cry for no reason. That place is a joke. I honestly do believe the staff they have now, they found in that bar before it was turned into a nursing home. And if im wrong, they need to change A LOT of things. Because If I could, Id have that place shut down in a HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
