Grace Christian Learning Center

We moved our son to this center in last year. He was in a different child care center which had changed directors and we were not happy with the changes. I was totally impressed with Grace Christian when I did my walk through. It is set up just like a school. They have a great gym for indoor play, and the kids have a daily curriculum. My son has learned alot since being there. They do time outs for dicipline, which works out great to get that reinforcement at school. His teacher is great! The only con I have, it they workers do not seem to be too personable with the parents. I have never met Rita the owner, my son gets dropped of later in the am by my husband and she is gone by the time I pick him up. You ocassionaly get a ""hello"" from the person at the front desk, and when I call, they dont know who my son is and what class he is in. They are always asking, ""What room is your child in"". I wouldn't expect every teacher in every class to know me or greet me, but it would be nice for the directors and assistant directors to be a little more personable with the parents. And when I pick him up in the afternoon, for the afternoon (fill in) caregivers to associate a little more with the parents. Besides reading it on the report card, it would be nice to hear a little about their day. When I get there at the end of the day,(about 515 they close at 6) the fill in caregivers are always just sitting there. I hardly ever see them interacting or playing with the kids. All in all, I am happy with the center, he has excelled much more here than at the other center he was in. I love his head teacher and he seems happy. So that is what matters. I highly recommend this school to any and all parents. My daughter has attended this school since she was 18 months. She is now four. The teachers do an excellent job working with the children. If you ever have a question or concern it is immediately answered and taken care of. I have never experienced any staff being unprofessional as it relates to other parents, staff or children. Every classroom is monitored by video from the office. You are more than welcome to come into the building at any time to enter your child?s classroom or observe your child in the class room on video. The facility is locked you can only enter the building by using an access code or by being buzzed in. If you are buzzed in you are first observed through video to insure that you are allowed in the building. Overall this is a great Christian school. \r I highly recommend Grace Christian Learning Center. I have two boys attending there. My youngest is in the toddler room and my oldest son has attended all of the classrooms: infant room, toddler room, pre-k etc, and each of the head teachers are magnificent; caring, genuine and honestly concerned about the well being of the child. \r \r I have a child who has always needed special attention in each of his classes. The caregivers provided praise, empowerment and that special love for him when he needed it. The owner, Rita, knows each and every parent and their children and she always goes above and beyond for the children. She holds fundraisers for needy families, provides for the homeless, organizes holiday sing along shows, etc and she talks to the parents everyday. She makes sure problems and concerns are handled and taken care of. She only has the best interests in mind for the kids.\r \r The day is structured, free play, circle time, creative time, and learning all through out the day with fun activities, singing, projects and games. There are daily lesson plans daily parent report cards, weekly plans, monthly themes, and various parties such as: bicycle parade day, harvest party, holiday parties, birthday parties, beach party, pajama day, costume day, plus so many more.\r \r The environment is very cheerful and upbeat. I have seen/heard the workers bad mouth parents to other workers on various occasions. Makes you feel like they are talking about you too! \r \r Caregivers have picked up babies that could sit or stand by their arms. \r \r I have had my childs assigned caregiver leave for the day while i was in the room to pick up my child and not even acknowledge me. \r \r The room set up is much better than other daycares.
