Gottlieb Memorial Hospital: Paul Prinz, MD

Gottlieb Memorial Hospital is ABSOLUTELY, HIGHLY NOT RECEOMMENDED!!!\r In mid November 2010, My Beloved, Dear, Caring Grandmother, grandma\r Wanda Nida passed away in this uncaring ""hospital."" They put her on\r ventilator way too long, we wanted to take her down on oxygen mask but\r staff & doctors did not recommend saying it's too dangerous. I wish we\r did, if she was to die, fine, at least we could have had final\r conversation with her. Because of tube she was on on for 10 days she\r was unable to say anything & her organism weakened thus leading to\r multiple organ failure, septi shock. It's not death that I am against,\r we all must die (thank goodness, only justice left in the world, all\r must face sooner or later), but the memory of her being uncomfortable\r in that ventilator tube. I wish I can go back in time to November 10\r when she was pretty much OK & simply wait for the doctor to give order\r to take tube out.\r \r Nurse Ewa said she was getting better, true, so i though hey let's\r wait 2 more days why not, let's make her really better, by 7th day if\r she can can talk, normally reply, we'll surely take the darn tube out\r no matter what. Dr. Maher Najjar (who also works at 2525 S Michigan\r Ave Chicago, IL 60616). This internist, pulmonary doctor of ""15 years\r of experience"" is no doctor, he never replied to any calls, nothing,\r never recommended anything. If you are on ventilator tube it's\r possible ventilator pneumonia germ will cause pneumonia & at this age\r is not recommended!Only few nurses were good, rest were pathetic. My\r grandmother was saved in ER (november 6) & I am greateful to doctor\r David there, he saved her! But the ICU where she was moved later on,\r wow, the staff is absolute zero, garbage. Dr. Maher Najjar, her\r pulmonary doctor, I have no words for him & his associates, wow, he\r should be animal doctor, even animals would prefer to die rather be\r treated by him. Im heartbroken. My life will no longer be the same. If\r u have emergency go to any nearest hospital, if this is it, fine, but\r when u get better, never stay there hour longer when u dont have to.\r Very rude people, even called security when I called. When my\r grandmother was about to die, they called doctor Ivanov who treats\r critical patients, but why was she called when it was too late, to\r show off hospital is doing its business right? Her primary physician\r Meera Madappallil (also works at 2425 W 22nd in oak brook) did it only\r after I complained my grandmother to highter authorities is not\r getting proper treatment for kidneys! I could go on forever with this\r story. Out of 10 days in her hospital, I faxed something 9 times to\r remind the doctors, nurses to better look over her. They even accused\r me of being doctor. I had no idea dental technician is MD in their\r stupid empty minds!\r \r If it was God's will for my grandmother to go, ok, I guess, but not\r this way, not this way to remember her final days. It's so hard to\r cope, not only for me but my mother & uncle who lives outside USA.\r \r Grandma was happy to see me last day she was conscious but I know it\r was not easy for her with those freaking tubes. Everything about this\r hospital IS NO GOOD, NOW THEY WANT 180 000$ FOR WHAT? THAT''S BAD JOKE,\r LOL! STAY AWAY! TELL OTHERS, STAY HEALTHIER SOMEWHERE ELSE! THIS\r GOTTLIEB MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SHOULD NOT EVEN TREAT ANIMALS! Went into the emergency room about eight p.m. and had a chest x-ray for horrible coughing. They sent me back to the waiting area with a mask to wear, coughing and hacking. Around twelve-thirty a.m. my husband asked how much longer and the rude girl at the front desk says, it could about four hours more!! they only have one doctor. With about five people sick and an ambulance coming in, isn't it unsafe if say two emergencies are happening at once in the EMERGENCY ROOM????? WITH ONLY ONE DR.???? we left, I went to another hospital and had to have another x-ray because my new dr. tried to get the one from crappy Gotlieb and it was not ready. Yet this new emergency room had x-rayed me, seen the dr. and got my perscriptions in way half the time!! The new dr. said I could have injured lungs by coughing so much. Also, Gottlieb is filled with security guards, one farted as he walked past me. I smelled it through my mask. Yuck!! Pros: Hot cocoa in vending machine. Cons: long wait time. Hours and hours. more
