Had a very good experience 10/27/2009

We recently boarded our 3 dogs here for 5 days. Our inside dog stayed in the house, and the staff held her and petted her all the time. The other two ran outside with the other dogs. They were happy and healthy when we picked them up, and they ate all their food. That to me is a sign that they were happy. They were tired from playing so much, which was nice because we just came home from vacation and didn't have to deal with dogs who were spastic from lack of activity. Everyone who works there was friendly and helpful, and we even picked up some tips on how to handle our dogs with barking issues. If you want your dog to be kept in a pristine bubble, this might not be the place for you. But if you want your dog to run and play and ""be a dog,"" then this is the place to be! We will use their services again, without a doubt. Pros: The dogs get to be dogs! more

beware 5/30/2009

Daughter took her pekinese there for about 6 months every other week and was happy with care. But one day she picked Pek up and he couldn't wait to get out of there. She bought him to me and he was really dirty and was acted strange. Panting, eyes real red and I was worried. She called back to gone with the dogs and they said he had been out all day as he wouldn't come in. Now it had been a very hot day and they had beeen warned that pekinese because of short nose overheat quickly in hot weather which I feel they should have known with caring for other people pets. We watched him close that nite and she spoke to Keith the owner the next day and he was not concerned about the problem she had. Lucky for Pek he had no lasting problem because of this day. Last time Pek ever crossed their stairs Beware!.This place only cares about the profits not your pets. This is our personal opinion and we love our furbabies. Written by Pek's Nana Cons: pek was stressed and dirty more

Scary results of dog training!! 5/24/2009

Our daughter took her 1.5 year old dog to this facility for boarding along with training. She had to leave her dog for two weeks for the training at a cost of $500.00. She bragged to us about the method the owner used and said it was going to do wonders for her rambunctious dog. We went to visit her this weekend and we were shocked at how changed her dog was. Prior to training she was the a usual young dog, bouncing around and having the time of her life. She knew basic commands such as come here, sit and where to sleep in the house at night; but our daughter wanted her dog to be ""perfect"" in discipline. What she got back from this facility was a ZOMBIE!! Her dog acts as though she had a lobotomy done and she shows absolutely no emotion. She doesn't play, run or engage in any fun behavior at all. She would just lay on the floor of the living room or out in the backyard the whole time. I tried to get her to fetch a chew toy (something she loved to do before) and I couldn't get her to move. Keep in mind this is a 1.5 year old dog and she acts like she is 15 years old now. What a shame and a scary thought about the ""supposed"" training she had to endure. I WOULD USE GREAT CAUTION PRIOR TO SENDING YOUR DOG TO THIS FACILITY!! Pros: What pros? more

A Horrible Place 5/22/2009

This is not my personal experience. I merely ran across it and thought it should be shared. Pros: There are no pros Cons: Never take your dog here!!!! more

Nothing good to say. 5/11/2009

We called to make an appointment to bring our 6 month old puppy in for socialization with other dogs. I did not want my puppy to freak out by leaving her there all day so we arranged for a three hour visit. When we arrived we were greeted by a man who appeared to be friendly enough and claimed to love puppies. We filled out the paperwork along with the vaccination information and we handed over our 6 month old puppy. Prior to taking her there she was rambunctious, happy go lucky and never met a stranger kind of dog; BUT when we went to pick her up it took a while for someone to come up to the front desk and when the same man did appear he didn't say a word to us even though we said hello. He disappeared into a back room and then reappeared only to go into another room while obviously searching for our puppy. All of a sudden we heard an awful scream of a puppy being hurt and he came out with a very mean/angry/hateful look on his face with our puppy in his hands. He handed her over, all the while not saying a word to us and she was trembling in our arms. We left without any words being spoken to us. When we got her home she ran from my husband, wouldn't climb into his chair to sit with him like she used to and she coward to his touch. It took over a week for him to regain her trust. We will NEVER return to this center!! Cons: Lots more

not so good 3/2/2008

My dog stayed here for a weekend when I had to work. When I went in I was impressed they seemed clean. The staff was kind of rude. I had never left my dogs anywhere before I was asked again and again to fax my vax. they lost all my paperwork more than twice! When I picked my dog up I had to go home and give her a bath she smelled like urine and fecies Pros: they are close to my house Cons: no sunday or saturday hours!!! more

Update 10/16/2007

My call was returned a month later. The owner apologized for the delay(??) He said he thought my dog had a sprained paw. I explained what the vet thought and the procedures performed. I sent a copy of the bill and was reimbursed by the owner. Gross neglect was an overstatement but a call to me and/or my vet was indicated. It's hard for me to rate the kennel. I think it is the best place I've found for dogs to play and not be caged. I was truly happy when I found them because I felt I could leave my pet without worrying about his care. Perhaps this was an isolated incident, if so, I would say this is the best kennel around. Would I use them again? I'm undecided. Pros: Good area for play Cons: Didn't recognize infected paw more

Great Service 6/13/2006

I signed up just to say some kind words about Gone to the Dogs Daycare. When we had just one dog we took him there each week while we were at work. I could call and check on him anytime and they wouldn't think I was crazy. I knew he was well taken care of and felt good about his care during the day. When we got a second dog (badly abused before we got her) we took her there to see if she would be OK there. Keith asked us to leave her there for an hour for him to assess how she acclaimated. When we picked her up he said he didn't like to turn down business but this dog wasn't best served at the daycare. It meant the world to me to have him look me in the eye and tell me honestly that she wouldn't adapt well at the daycare. Most people go after the ""sale"" in business today. Gone to the Dogs Daycare goes after what is best for the dogs. Pros: Great family Cons: Can't pick up Sundays more

Great dog day care and training in Nashville! 5/8/2006

Gone to the Dogs is a great place to take your dog! They took excellent care of my two dogs and I will definitely be taking Buckeye and Rusty back there again soon. I plan on taking my dogs back for training since I've heard their dog training is some of the best in Nashville. Pros: Friendly Staff, Dog Training more

Two Paws up for the dog party! 4/27/2006

If you have ever left your furry babies at a regular kennel and come back to find them depressed and yourself guilty, you never have to experience that again. Our dogs cry to get out of the car and run in the door. (The crying actually starts as we exit the interstate...They know where they are going.) It really must be a dog party! They don't even notice we are gone. GTTDs also offers training. We have a lab mix that was abused before we rescued him. Rocky was frightened and very difficult to deal with before GTTDs. Keith and Teresa have trained us and Rocky with great patience and success. Rocky is calmer and happier both with us and when we leave him. I don't know what we would have done without their help. Rocky and his little brother give it two paws up!! Pros: fenced yard, training aviablity, the dogs love it!! Cons: no Sunday pickup, book up fast, little more $ more
