Best

Totally amazing health club that's open 24 hours during the week. Huge facility (which is deceptive from the outside, but you gotta see the inside!). Top notch staff that takes a ...

Worst

It is hard to do cardiovascular exercise using the machines because the gym is too hot. Bringing it to the attention of the management resulted in no change.

Worst customer service ever 1/6/2015

Out of all the Gold's Gym I have been to, the one in Redmond has the worst customer service. The front desk staff are rude and often gives totally incorrect information. When you call, they often put you on hold and then come back and ask you why you are calling and then tell you that 'things cannot be done over the phone'. For the swim lessons for kids, they do not bother to update times and lesson changes. Really frustrating! more

On the whole: a good place to get your workout 1/21/2012

Good: Staff is friendly and courteous, even when I was upset over an iPod theft. I am greeted when I come in with a smile and a friendly greeting ("good morning", "hello", etc). That goes with leaving as well. I use their personal trainer service: they are courteous and professional. I have three children (8,10 & 11). They love the pool. Other members respect my space (read: no one is chatting at me as I get my workout done) and consistently wipe down equipment after use.. Bad: This is a high theft area, per a Redmond police officer. Cars are consistently targetted (don't leave valuables in your car) and unattended items will go missing inside (use a lock in the locker rooms). My 11 year old had her iPod stolen while in the kids center. Note that the older kids' area is not under video surveillance. I filed a police report and the reporting officer passed on the info above. Gold's post warnings and notices to drive member awareness of these risks...they aren't kidding.. Improvements: Security improvements and an improved protocol for tracking incidents. If a police report is not filed then no record is made. How can Gold's senior management make informed decisions on security without data as to how severe a problem it represents? Their database seems to have frequent issues holding data. Plan on giving them your contact information whenever you need them to call you...like setting personal trainer appointments.. Other: Regarding Gold's sale staff: they are obviously paid on what they sell. This incents a predictable behavior. The contract is clear. Think of your cellular phone service provider. Joining is a serious financial commitment. Regarding the equipment: appears to be superior equipment to what I've seen in other, lower cost, gym's. I really appreciate how well the aerobic equipment picks up on heart-rate monitor (I've used Polar FT60 and Timex Personal Trainer monitors).. more

Beware 2/6/2010

The facility itself is really nice. However, do not give them your credit/debit card. If you are going to pay, do so in cash and pay for a term contract. They will screw you hardcore when you try to cancel. It has happened to me, my brother and several friends. It has been a complete nighmare! more

Worst customer service 2/3/2010

They are bunch of crooks at Gold's Gym. I went there last week, they gave me one rate...I went there this week; there is yet another rate. The "trainer" kept on pushing me to buy personal training lessons eventhough all I came in for was work outs. The manager, Antonio (I think) is unbelievably rude and pushy! He kept on pressuring me to join or else I'd have to pay higher rate tomorrow. The parking lots are always full. At first, I was impressed with their facility but after hearing all the reviews and experiencing it first hand; I am never joining there! more

Unable to cancel membership 9/14/2009

The Gym is great until you want to cancel. I have spoken to the manager 3 times and several other Gold Gym representatives in Redmond but have gotten no where. The last conversation was with the manager who said it would be taken care of. Yet they took another withdrawal out of my account. more

Beware 8/26/2009

They will scam you when you try to cancel your contract. Google Golds Gym scam and you will see. It is happening to me right now with the Redmond, WA gym! They lost the cancellation request and are continuing to bill me. And they will not refund me for the pre-paid tanning sessions I had! Beware! more

Great Facility - Rude Staff 2/29/2008

Unless the staff think you are somebody, you are SO nobody. We joined about 8 months ago and I have pretty much stopped going because it is always a problem. Teachers not showing up for scheduled private classes, phone calls not returned, nickeled and dime attitudes, etc. The real problem is that they never take the time to listen. Who wants to pay monthly to be snubbed? There are lots of great gyms in Redmond, this one isn't it. more

Great golds Gym! 8/23/2006

I think the have promos now and then but they are pretty pricy. I think about $60 a month. The best thing is to call their memebership department to find out. However, the gym is very nice. The nicest gold gym i have seen. They have a olypic size swimming pool, women's work out area. Great classes and much more. Check it out. more

Excellent Facility 1/26/2006

I'm a member, and I really like this gym. The weights are amazing, and they have a great cardiotheater room, where you can watch movies on a big screen while working out. The other cardio machines all have their own personal TVs with DVD players if you want to watch something by yourself. Some of the staff are rude, which is the only thing that keeps this gym from getting a five star rating. more
