Took my bag there to see if they could polish the leather. Went to pick it up and i was not happy. Asked them to do a better job. Forgot about it and called back and asked for it....

The man was unable to locate it. Called back and a lady said she'd find it. Called them back and they still haven't found it. Cons: don't trust them more

Don't even think of going anywhere else for shoe issues! 5/1/2008

When the zipper on my favorite boots busted I took them to the Austin Shoe Hospital by my house. They told me it would cost at least $40 and be at least 4 months before they could get it done. So I drove accross town to the Golden Slipper to see what they had to say. My boots were mended and back on my feet in 2 days and I only paid $18.75. Plus they are nice and friendly and not annoying and rude like the folks i have dealt with at Austin Shoe Hospital. I will never go anywhere else for shoe issues. Pros: the best! Cons: not as close to me, but worth the drive more

good old-fashioned leather repair 9/8/2006

I got my favorite purse fixed here after the strap split, and the guy did a great job reinforcing the leather in a way that the repair wasn't too obvious. I was very happy with the service and would recommend ""Golden Slipper"" for any leather repair work. more

Shoe savers! 5/9/2006

I LOVE taking my shoes to Golden Slipper! I have taken a variety of shoes from pumps to boots to sandals... and they all came back to me looking brand new but still feeling like old friends, that won't give me blisters! The shoes that I have lovingly broken in are always restored at Golden Slipper. I even had the owner, Abel, do some VERY creative work on the backs of my favorite heels once my puppy got a hold of them! ...and you gotta love that Golden Slipper has been handed down to Abel through his father... that is SO AUSTIN! Go see Abel, and tell him Jen said ""Hi!"" Pros: Family-owned, Free parking, Great location more
