I found Golden Rentals on citysearch in hopes of renting a waverunner for an upcoming outing. I called and spoke to a rep on the phone who said they did have availability, but I had to go in person to reserve the ski. So I got off the phone and drove down to their ""office"" to get things settled. From the moment I walked onto their property I had a uneasy feeling about the place. At first glance, it looks like a run down storage rental facility. The office is hard to find and once you finally find it, it's diiiirrrrty inside. There is barely room to sit between all of their parts and papers laying everywhere. The guy running the desk is extremely creepy and has a nack for making females feeling completely uncomfortable (if you know what I mean!). I filled out all the paper work and handed him my credit card to put down the security deposit when he looked at me and said he only accepts cash or personal check?!?! Every other place I have been too only accepts credit card for liability reasons. When I told him I would only pay with credit card (as I was leery of the place anyway/my card is insured) he told me it would be an extra $42.00 on a four day rental to use my credit card to cover his credit card use fees. As if the $700.00 rental fee wasn't enough to cover his outrageous credit card machine fees? At that point, I told him I wasn't comfortable with his business and would take my money elsewhere. I had filled out some paperwork early on in my visit that had my social security number, driver's license number etc on it. When I asked for it back as I wasn't going to rent there, he was hesitant to give it back! I literally took it off of his desk and ran out the door. Don't even go here people....old machines, bad service, archaic business skills, creepy employees. Extreme Rentals in Clearfield (801)589-1036 is where I took my business and couldn't have been happier.
Pros: None...run for your life!
Cons: Hard to find. Dirty. Old Machines for the price. Creepy employees.
