Went there for dinner recently, egg roll and my entr?e (lemon chicken) were all lukewarm upon arrival to the table. It all tasted, very frankly, like it came from Gordon's Foods and was heated up. Perhaps the sauce was made at the restaurant but the ""Chicken McLemon"" sure wasn't. The breading on the chicken was particularly unsavory, dark, falling off the chicken nuggets. Last time I'll be dining at this place. more

Arrogant Owners; Bad Service; Mediocre Food 3/25/2008

We have been getting take-out (for convenience) from The Golden Crown for several years. We never will, again. They rarely listen to requests; value for the food is poor. Having requested extra onions in our recent fried rice, we not only didn't get extra, we got NONE. And when we called to comment on it, they questioned us (who would, honestly, lie about something so trivial?). If this was one occasion, it might fly. But we have been observing this in multiple transactions over the last few years. The arrogant attitude of the owners is unbelievable, considering that they are in a competitive market, and their food is nothing special. Definitely do not recommend that you waste time on this restaurant. Atmosphere is cold; food is overpriced; quality is mediocre to poor. (Too bad, considering the convenient location). Very very good food ... 6/12/2007

A very good restaurant. The service is excellent. A party of four can get in, eat, and get out, all in a lunch hour. This is a very easy to locate restaurant on Woodward. There is sufficient parking. The wait is never long inside the restaurant. I highly recommend. more

decent prices, good food, small portions 8/17/2006

I went to the Golden Crown for lunch. All of the food was homemade, but the portions were small. I had General Taos chicken. It was not fried as it is in most restaurants, and the sauce had considerably less sugar average. The egg roll was excellent; I am almost certain it was homemade. My biggest complaint about this restaurant was that they did not give free refills on my soft drink. That detracted from the value of an otherwise reasonably priced meal. It was nicely decorated, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. A few minor problems, but overal pretty good. Pros: homemade food, ambience, service Cons: small portions, no refills more
