I've had good success here with boarding. My dog seems happy and healthy when I pick him up, and when we go (he's boarded there 4-5 times) he doesn't seem to mind being there when we walk inside. I've had both good and okay experiences with grooming. Twice the results were terrific, but the last time my dog's coat was cut rather short, something I did not request and was surprised that any groomer would do without it being requested. My dog is an often-brushed Sheltie, so has a lot of fur, but wasn't matted or tangled. When I mentioned my dismay, the groomer told me ""it needed to happen"". I disagree, but think they treat the dogs well there. more

I've been a fan of the Golden Bone Pet resort for a while now, however my last experience was not only disappointing but rather disturbing. After 5+ years of service with the Golden Bone it came to an end for my dog and me. I dropped my dog off with simple directions for a grooming/cut (like the past years). After picking him up, my dog was shaking (not that unusual for the breed but concerning). When we got home he started vomiting.The dog was also completely SHAVEN. I understand that mistakes happen so I wanted to express my concern for the dog's well-being and the bad grooming, the staff was very understanding. The staff ( who was helpful ) guided me to the owner for a refund. The owner did not give the refund, he approached me in a very militant tone (in front of other customers) about the fact that there are NO REFUNDS, and THINGS HAPPEN o well. Not sure what's going on there but not the quality that I am used to receiving. The treatment by the owner was very disrespectful and disturbing. Not sure if he had a bad day but that was enough for me to never take my dog there again. more

I don't typically share my opinion about stuff, but I care about pets. Amazingly, my ole 9yo dog really loves The Golden Bone Pet Resort. He seemed to want to stay there when I picked him up after 4 days. That's funny! His behavior after the stay was excellent & he clearly had good sleep during his stay which is very encouraging. Nails trimmed, smooth combed coat too!! Clearly he got a free bath and grooming. I was delighted with the basic package, pricing and treatment. Almost a dozen other places I tried in the area have been terribly traumatic for my pet. Well....no more cancelled Vacations. Will go back...maybe just for the complementary grooming. I drove there from Ross based upon a personal recommendation. Totally worth it. Can't be beat in Greater Pgh!! more

I have been a customer of the Golden Bone for over 10 years! They have had total consistency in their staff...even more than I thought when I looked at their website recently. Amazing stats for a boarding and grooming facility!! Any place where the staff is that loyal is a terrific testimonial to me that they love pets! They treat every dog and cat like they are special and don't guilt you into purchasing ""extra"" playtime. I've boarded several of my pets at the Golden Bone over the last 15 years, always with great results. David Anderson and his staff have always been there for my pets. Recently I had a death in my family and had to leave my dog Sasha at the Bone. When I returned 1 week later I was told there was no charge for this visit. I asked David about it and he said, ""We' don't profit from our customer's misfortunes."" That says it all! more
