Goff Construction & Landscpg

I Hired Berry Goff and his brother Chris Goff to fix a drainage issue in my back yard, lay sod, and put in a patio. Of those three things the patio is the only one that turned out right. I signed the contract with Berry on 6 April. At that time he told me it would take 3 weeks to get started and two weeks to complete. The project was not completed until the end of May. At the end of May the daily max temperature was peaking above 90 degrees, at which point the fescue sod was unable to root. After shelling out around $150 a month on water bills I was left with a yard full of dead sod, 90% didn't take. I contacted Chris Goff on 8 Sept 12 about the issue, he said he would come by and take a look. Chris Goff came by the house to take a look at the lawn, he apologized and said that other lawns he planted a few weeks before mine took. Well no kidding, they had time to root before it got too hot. I hired someone else to remove the sod and prep the ground for seeding. In removing the sod we discovered the soil beneath hadn't really been prepped that well, it was still quite hard with a lot of rocks, and none of the sod had even the slightest hint of roots protruding. To add insult to injury the drainage problem they were supposed to fix is still a problem. Water still pools in exactly the same place, it?s as if they did nothing at all. more

Too bad you cannot give minus points. Evidently his landscaping skills are as bad as his construction skills. He turned a large closet into a laundry room all he had to do was put in closet doors (which I bought) where a regular door was. Work he did was absolutely terrible. Laid the linoleum crooked. Put crappy wood in around the closet doors. the dry wall was very wavy. I don't even know why he put new in?? And to boot cut the dryer vent too short and it has been blowing into the attic, put in the vent also. I had gotten so frustrated I just wanted this guy to leave. Do not use!! more

Required 50% up front before any work was done. That should have been my clue that I didn't need to do business with this company. Didn't lay the sod properlu according to other professional landscapers. Most of the sod is dead. Instead of working with me he is prepared to go to court. He says I didn't water enough but we had a $100 water bill several months in a row. Didn't pull up the old grass and weeds so weeds are taking over. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! Cons: Dishonest and doesn't stand behind his work more
