Editorial review from Citysearch 11/26/2013

My daughter attended this school for several years and in the end I CAN NOT recommend the school to anyone. The GSO should NOT be allowed to work with children. She cares nothing about the kids or the families. She came from a corporate environment and that is where she belongs. If you were to look at her response to past criticism she often states ""disgruntled ex-employee"". First, I wonder why the high turn over rate at her school? Hmm. Second, I am not an ex-employee and I AM entitled to my opinion. My family paid GOOD money to her school for my daughter's care and in the end the school not only did a disservice to my daughter but our family as well. The GSO is not qualified to evaluate how a child is developing and whether the child might have developmental problems. Leave it to the professionals GSO. You and your terrible attitude make you the LAST person who should be the judge of anything or anyone!\r \r Disgusted Cary Mom more

WONDERFUL Childcare! 3/7/2011

I cannot say enough great things about this school! One of my 2 children have been in this school since the doors opened, and have had nothing but good experiences. I don't even like calling Goddard a daycare because it is SO not. ""Not a Great School"" definitely has inacuuracies! Yes, the infants have to be 15 months before moving to the toddler room - that is a LAW. AND, my kids definitely get fed enough - I know they even have second helpings. This school is so clean and bright - Everything provided to the children is wonderful. And, I have been in other daycares and they ALL pail in comparison! All of the teachers my children have had or do have are wonderful. I have never not trusted anyone to care for my children at Goddard. A++++!!!!! more

We love our school, teachers and families! 2/24/2011

I want to address the review that keeps being ?reposted? under different names since the website City Search has removed it due to being ?offensive and harmful? and filled with inaccuracies about our Child Care Center. more

Not a Great School 2/24/2011

The Goddard School chain in general is supposed to be one of the best early childhood schools in the country, and definitely not cheap. They are all independently-owned, however. The franchise in Cary, IL is owned by someone that should not be in charge of children. I worked there for almost two years. During that time, I was bringing food from my house to feed the children in my classroom, who were not being fed enough food at the school. The owner also instilled a policy where toddlers were to stay in the infant room (which was $300 more per month than the actual toddler room) until they were 15 months old instead of moving up to the toddler room when they turned 1 year old. The owner did this because she could get more money out of the parents that way. This is serious because it was the child's development that really suffered, as they were older, still in the infant room, and under-stimulated. When I complained that neither of these things are right, and extremely unethical, I was told by the owner that these (food budget & holding children back) policies were not illegal and fit within the standards of the Goddard School company, which I do not believe. This is only the tip of the iceberg, there were too many unethical instances that occurred at that particular school and I did not want to be a part of it. That school is in a convenient location, as many parents who live close by bring their children there. But convenience should not matter when your child is not getting their needs met and parents are paying big money and trusting this school to provide for their children. It's just not worth it. This review site will not publish my review without a 1-5 star rating. Therefore, I am being required to rate it at least 1 star. As far as how the children are being treated there, I wouldn't give it a single star at all, but I have to just to have this review published so other parents are able to read about some of what goes on at that school. more

Great Place for Cary Childcare 2/23/2011

A fellow parent mentioned she saw the 'anonymous' review on here. I thought I'd better add my 2 cents in defense of the school. My daughter has been at the school for over a year. We transferred from (unnamed school) facility down the street. What a difference! It's like a bright shining star compared to a dingy dark outdated box. I also have only good feedback. Any issue I've had and passed along to our teachers have been addressed - and same with admin staff. Try somewhere else and then come here - night and day! All good! And my child comes home with a full belly from her Goddard provided snacks and hot lunches! Shame on that teacher for not addressing her concern professionally and posting her anonymous review. Very cowardly. more

Comment to 'Anon1mous' review 2/23/2011

Are you kidding me?!? Reviews like this one should not be allowed! Obviously a disgruntled former employee (as they state in review). My children have been at this school for 2 years and I only have rave reviews - for teachers, owner, cook (yes...she provides enough!), programs, care of children - and all the extra touches. First of all, this so called teacher shouldn't be able to bring food from home for the children - and I doubt she did! My kids moved up to the next class when they hit their milestones and the teacher/owner were happy to move her up. Give me a break! No wonder why this writer is 'anon1mous'!!! My daughter starts kindergarten in the fall. We'll miss Goddard - and I'll recommend this school to anybody who asks! more
